One Piece Season 2 On Netflix Reveals More Characters And Story
Live-action anime adaptations of anime and manga aren’t often well-received. Despite that, the One Piece live-action adaptation has been doing well for itself. The first season garnered a lot of attention, and now One Piece Season 2 is in the works, with the cast revealed for some of the new major players in the story, including Dr. Kureha, Dr. Hiriluk, Neferatari Coba, and Miss Wednesday.
To The Grand Line
One Piece Season 2 is currently in production, according to the original manga creator, Eiichiro Oda. During his announcement, he offered up some exciting information about what arcs this season will cover. According to him, Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island will all be a part of the next few episodes.
Katey Sagal Joins One Piece
The live-action One Piece Season 2 is set to get a slew of new cast members. During the same announcement by Oda, he mentioned several cast reveals would be covered on August 21, 22, and 23, 2024, with one or two cast members being released every day.
On August 21, the actors playing the roles of Dr. Kureha and Dr. Hiriluk were announced for One Piece Season 2. Katey Sagal, known for her roles in Married With Children and Sons of Anarchy, will play Dr. Hureha. Meanwhile, Mark Harelik, known for his roles in 42 and Trumbo, will play Dr. Hiriluk.
Superhero Veterans Join The Cast
August 22 revealed who would be playing the King of Alabasta, also known as Neferatari Cobra, in One Piece Season 2. Sendhil Ramamurthy is set to play the king. He has been in media such as The Slammin’ Salmon and Heroes.
Finally, on August 23, fans got to see the last reveal for One Piece Season 2, which was of the actor to be playing Miss Wednesday. Charithra Chandran has the honor of bringing one of the famous Baroque Works agents to life. She is most known for her roles in Eternals and Bridgerton.
Still Waiting For More Announcements
So far, these are the only additional cast members from One Piece Season 2 who have been announced. Several other favorites from the original story, like Miss All Sunday, Crocodile Smoker, Dragon, Mr. Three, and potentially Ace, should appear throughout this season. Still, the casting for these exciting characters has not yet been revealed.
Baroque Works Takes The Stage
During One Piece Season 2, the Straw Hat crew faces a dangerous organization called Baroque Works. The team learns to work together and get what they need to be a proper pirate crew. Then, they enter the Grand Line and face even more difficulties.
Each island they encounter leaves the crew facing completely different dangers, in addition to the Baroque Works agents following them. Giants, fatal illnesses, and witches are just some of the troubles they face as the crew works to save a threatened princess and continue on their journey.
As of yet, there is no release date for One Piece Season 2, though Oda has said it’s currently being worked on. However, if you want to watch the first season of the live-action, One Piece is available on Netflix.
