Marvel Icons’ Steamy Scene In New Movie Made Cameraman Turn Away

Why are these two Marvel icons canoodling in the first place? In the movie, a timey-wimey narrative walks us through the past, present, and future (not always in that order) of the relationship between Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield’s characters.

This includes at least one scene of the two characters having sex, and because they didn’t hear the director yell for the scene to cut, the two actors kept simulating sexual activity, forcing the cameraman to turn away.

The reason we know about this erotic mixup with Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield is that he spilled the beans about it while speaking to Josh Horowitz.

According to the Spider-Man actor, “We were doing the first take of this very intimate, passionate scene and it’s a closed set which means it’s only me and Florence and the camera operator.”

Meanwhile, in order to foster better intimacy between the two actors, “The director’s in another room next door.”

What follows is a surprisingly sweet account of how Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield got a little too wrapped up in one another while filming this sexy scene.

“The scene becomes passionate, and we get into it as it were, and we go a little bit further than we were meant to,” he said.

“It’s feeling safe and we just kind of… go from the next thing to the next thing and we’ll let this progress and we’ll just carry on.”

Certain fans of the actors might be thinking they’d have killed to be in the room with Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield when this impromptu erotic scene continued to unfold.

As it turns out, though, there was one guy who hated being in the room: the camera guy.

Garfield reports that he looked up and discovered that the other man had his camera by his side and was in the corner facing the wall, allowing the actors to finish (or keep going) as they saw fit.

The general internet consensus on this whole event is that it had a very wholesome ending for a story about a sex scene gone awry. Obviously, there were plenty of jokes about how much Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield must have been vibing with each other to just keep going after they should have stopped.

On a more serious note, though, others praised the cameraman for being as considerate as possible regarding the consent of the performers in front of him.

The excellent chemistry between the two charming actors is certainly reason enough for us to check out this film. Regardless of how you feel about Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield, it should be fun to see these two Marvel stars show off their acting chops without having to worry about any CGI monsters or bizarre supervillain crossovers.

At least, not until the sequel, right?
