Garth Brooks Lawsuit Could Destroy The Country Star With Horrific Allegations
A developing story involving one of county music’s biggest stars shows that sexual assault allegations against stars are not limited to Hollywood. A Jane Roe lawsuit filed in a California state court Thursday alleges that Grammy-winner Garth Brooks has been named as the defendant. In the civil suit, Brooks is accused of multiple counts of sexual impropriety that include sexual harassment, sexual assault, and battery.
Garth Brooks’ Accuser
The suit against Garth Brooks was put forward by a woman who states that she worked as the country music singer’s private hair stylist. The plaintiff maintains that she has been employed by Brooks since 2017 for her hair and makeup services. The suit alleges that the alleged incidents began occurring in 2019.
The Explicit Behavior
Jane Roe’s legal filing lists a multitude of instances where she alleges that she was victimized by Garth Brooks. The lawsuit states that the singer repeatedly exposed his genitals to her, as well as sending her sexually explicit text messages and sharing his sexual fantasies with her. In at least one instance, Brooks is accused of trying to arrange a threesome with the plaintiff and Brooks’ wife, country singer Trisha Yearwood.
Garth Brooks is accused of getting physical with Jane Roe on at least two occasions that are detailed in the lawsuit. In one instance, the plaintiff entered Brooks’ home for work one day and saw the musician emerge from the bathroom after taking a shower. The plaintiff maintains that Brooks then took her hands and forcibly placed them on his genitals while saying sexually vulgar things to her.
Sexual Assault
A second incident involving the plaintiff and Garth Brooks occurred during a work trip the two of them took to Los Angeles in May 2019. In a hotel room the two shared, Jane Roe alleges that Brooks sexually assaulted her. According to the lawsuit, the couple traveled together without any other staff members on a private jet, and she was in disbelief that the singer did not book a private room for her.
Garth Brooks Responds
Garth Brooks released a statement to CNN on the day the filing was publicly announced, protesting his innocence. According to the musician, he has been “hassled with no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars.” Brooks continued, stating that he and his legal team filed a lawsuit against Jane Roe a month ago, where he alleges that he is being extorted.
Brooks Fires Back
The suit filed by Garth Brooks was done under the protection of anonymity, as the musical artist wished to protect families on both sides of the complaint. His legal complaint states that Jane Roe’s attorney sent him a demand letter that alleged numerous sexual misconduct allegations, but only after the singer refused to give his accuser “salaried employment and medical benefits.”
Roe’s attorneys appeared confident in their response to Garth Brooks’ legal filing, stating that the star will be “held accountable for his actions.” Roe’s legal team dismissed the earlier suit filed by Brooks as a desperate tactic that failed to silence who they believe to be a victim of a sexual predator.
