Diddy Promises Woman Ban In New Bail Plea
If you’ve been keeping up with the news in recent weeks, you’re likely aware of the ongoing legal drama surrounding rap industry mogul and Bad Boy Records founder Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
The rap artist is currently in a New York City jail awaiting trial on federal charges of racketeering and sex trafficking and has been denied bail on multiple pleas. According to a new write-up in Irish Star, Diddy’s lawyers have offered to functionally ban any and all women from entering his home if he is given release.
But the judge is unlikely to accept this woman ban before Diddy’s October 9 hearing.
Trying To Get Diddy Released
Diddy’s lawyers offered up the woman ban to the judge, but they previously tried to have the rapper released under numerous strict circumstances. Judge Andrew Carter has denied all previous pleas, including a $50 million bail package, on the grounds that the mogul is considered a flight risk.
Before Diddy was even officially indicted, it was rumored that he would attempt to escape from federal prosecutors by leaving the country on his private jet or personal yacht.
The rapper was previously onboard his aircraft as Homeland Security agents conducted a joint raid effort on two of Combs’ homes at the same time.
A Ban On Women?
Now, per Diddy’s legal team, represented by Alexandra Shapiro and Anthony Ricco, the Bad Boy founder is proposing a property-wide woman ban. This would also include weekly drug testing, and monitored release if he is allowed to return to his New York home while awaiting movement within the trial.
The judge is not likely to agree to these terms, however, as a whopping 120 sexual assault and misconduct violations have just been added to his ongoing slew of battles in a massive case that dates back decades.
Intimidating Witnesses?
Diddy’s lavish parties are also known to attract a wide array of Hollywood A-listers, who may soon see indictments of their own due to their association with the New York socialite.
One key reason why Diddy may not see the outside of a cell while fighting these compounding cases, even with his proposed woman ban, is the perceived likelihood that he will attempt to intimidate witnesses if he is out of federal custody.
Accusations Back To The 90s
While there are no concrete convictions to prove that Diddy has done this in the past, many accusers have expressed a shared fear that Diddy and his cohorts would retaliate against them if they stepped forward.
This explains why some of these accusations date back to the early 1990s. Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie Ventura, previously claimed that Combs blew up the car of fellow rapper Kid Cudi with an explosive device just because Cudi was attempting to help Cassie escape from the relationship.
Woman Ban Unenforceable?
It is also likely that the prosecution in the Diddy case will find an official woman ban to be nigh unenforceable, as women could feasibly be snuck into Diddy’s opulent mansion by a number of obfuscated methods.
Multiple Diddy accusers claim that they were brought into his home surreptitiously for the purpose of being sexually assaulted after allegedly drinking from beverages spiked with drugs.
Unless the state of New York is willing to go to such trouble as to place armed guards at all entrances and exits of the Combs estate, it seems functionally impossible to enact an actual ban of all female visitors.
