Diddy Blamed For Jennifer Lopez Divorce By Ex-Husband
The arrest and subsequent scandals of Diddy are threatening many celebrities’ careers and may already be forcing some power couples apart. For example, rumors have been flying hot and heavy that the musician’s arrest may be behind Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck getting divorced. While those two haven’t confirmed or denied this rumor, Lopez’s ex-husband Ojani Noa now openly blames Diddy for his divorce from Lopez.
Jennifer Lopez’s Ex Blames Diddy For Their Divorce
This accusation came from Noa’s recent appearance on the Spanish talk show Despierta America. In discussing his breakup with Lopez, Noa claimed that “part of that divorce was Diddy’s fault.” He alleges that she became romantically involved with Diddy while the Bad Boy Records mogul was helping to produce several of her musical tracks, leading to a very messy divorce.
It didn’t help matters that the two were dealing with a long-distance relationship at the time. According to Noa, he was busy opening a restaurant in Los Angeles while Lopez had to fly back and forth from Miami to New York while working on her debut album On the 6. He claims that Diddy became involved as a producer after Sony paid Lopez millions of dollars, and “That’s where the deception, the lies, the separation started.”
Noa makes it sound like Diddy’s presence, plus the distance between them (both physically and emotionally), made their ultimate divorce inevitable. “When I could, I would go to be with her,” he said. “There, in that distance, in that separation, was where the deception started.”
Sabotaged His Career
It’s worth noting that Ojani Noa has a chip on his shoulder regarding both Diddy and Lopez, and he wasted no time putting his ex-wife on blast in his comments. In addition to implicitly blaming her for lying about the alleged affair with Diddy and subsequent divorce, he claims that she effectively sabotaged his career even while aggressively pursuing her own.
“What did I do to you so that you have taken me to court, you have accused me, you have lied, you have created false things about me and you have called several companies to throw me out and different television networks not to give me work?’”
Jennifer Lopez has not responded to his accusations at the time of this writing, but the timeline of her own relationship with Diddy does make the divorce claims more plausible. She married Noa in 1997 and divorced him in 1998; she then began openly dating Diddy from 1999 to 2001. What her ex-husband is alleging is something that is sadly common with many failed relationships: Lopez developed feelings for someone she had a professional relationship with, causing the business relationship to become romantic.
It’s a safe bet, though, that Lopez herself is blaming Diddy right now, but not for her divorce from Noa. Even though they broke up over two decades ago, the musician’s recent scandals have caused the public to take a closer look at anyone who has ever been in his orbit. Because she is someone who actually dated the singer, many can’t help but wonder how much she knew about Diddy’s infamous parties and if any incriminating tapes (a la Kevin Hart) will be surfacing anytime soon.
The Bennifer Divorce
In the meantime, most of the public attention on Jennifer Lopez is focused on her latest breakup with Ben Affleck. Nobody knows if Diddy somehow had any effect on this divorce or if the two simply found out they weren’t compatible, just like they did all those years ago. Given the reported legal drama of the divorce, Affleck may be is finding out that fighting his wife in court is much harder than fighting Superman on the streets of Gotham City.
