Sean “Diddy” Combs Children Are Standing By His Side

The children range in age from 33 to 2, and the statement was released on Instagram alongside a family photo with Diddy’s current partner and the mother of his youngest child, Dana Tran. Most of Hollywood has chosen to remain silent or, in the case of Beyonce and Jay-Z, actively sue over what turned out to be unfounded statements in order to defend themselves from the fallout of the arrest that rocked the entertainment industry. Diddy’s children defending him isn’t unexpected, but they are alone on an island.

Diddy was arrested in September by Homeland Security and charged with a litany of crimes, ranging from kidnapping to racketeering, with his infamous parties singled out as being especially problematic. Called “freak offs,” the behind-the-scenes parties would involve everyone from major celebrities and businessmen to adult film stars engaged in days-long X-rated parties. A clip of Kevin Hart at a “freak off” in which a scantily-clad woman’s hair catches fire has forced the star into hiding, and now, everyone’s waiting to see who else is on tape.

Beyond his children, Diddy’s biggest defender has been Lil Bow Wow, bemoaning the loss of his parties. It wasn’t a strong defense, but again, almost no one is willing to go on record about the fall of the Making the Band host. Even Ashton Kutcher, one of his best friends for over 20 years, hasn’t spoken to the press, and instead, a source claiming to be close to the Punk’d host tried to explain that “Ashton barely knows him,” which has fooled no one on social media.

In the last week, 120 civil lawsuits have been filed against Diddy, most making horrific allegations of abuse at the hands of the Get Him to the Greek star, some of which involve plaintiffs who were minors at the time of the alleged abuse. This is separate from the charges filed by the Department of Justice, which, if found guilty, could send Diddy to prison for the rest of his life. At the moment, his children publicly supporting him is the only bit of good news as his life crumbles around him.

At this point, there’s no telling what the wild new twist will be in the ongoing saga of Diddy. After years of being alluded to in the rap community, the dam finally broke when the federal government got involved, and now, from lawsuits over department store assaults to new information about his interactions with Tupc, every day is going to bring something new. While his children are publicly supporting him now, who knows what could happen if he’s found guilty.
