Bob Saget, better known as America’s favorite dad, made a successful career in television and film for himself for more than three decades. After his success in the 90s faded, he managed to make a Hollywood comeback with Fuller House up to the point of his untimely death at the beginning of 2022.

BOB SAGET PASSED AWAY AT THE AGE OF 65

On January 9th, 2022, news broke that the beloved Full House star had passed away. His death came as a shock to the world. The coroner’s report said that a blow to the head from a fall was the cause.

But little else was known for quite some time as his family worked hard to have the investigation reports blocked from the public. 

Months later, the full death report was released. Ultimately, his illness from being positive for COVID-19 appeared to have caused the fall that led to the head trauma that killed him.

This laid rampant rumors of scandal and drug abuse to rest, as the report also stated that he was not under the influence or intoxicated at the time.

Bob Saget did not come from a family of extreme wealth, such as what he would someday acquire. He was born Robert Lane Saget in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on May 17, 1956. His father, Benjamin, was a supermarket executive, and his mother, Rosalyn “Dolly,” worked in hospital administration.

After graduating from high school, Bob Saget attended Temple University, where he studied film. He graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor’s degree in Arts.

He had a short stint (only lasting a few days) at the University of Southern California but eventually dropped out to tour the country doing stand-up comedy gigs. This would be the beginning of Bob Saget’s success and the build-up of his immense net worth. 

In 1987, Bob landed a hosting job on CBS’ The Morning Program. After that, he nabbed the biggest role of his career. Bob Saget became Danny Tanner on Full House and built his net worth pretty high. But how much did the young actor make on the show?

What is known is how much his tiny co-star twins, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen made. Since the two were baby and young child stars during their time on the show, Saget surely made quite a bit more than them.

Style Caster reported that the Olsen twins grossed about $1.9 million each for all 24 episodes in the eighth and final season.

He began hosting in 1989 and continued to present silly at-home clips for eight seasons or 192 episodes. He is estimated to have made another $16 million from this endeavor. 

If that wasn’t enough, Bob Saget later landed a role in another popular sitcom, albeit a different type of casting. He was the narrator of How I Met Your Mother, AKA the grown-up voice of the main character Ted Mosby, for 208 episodes throughout the series’ nine seasons.

There is no information regarding how much he made on the show, but given his popularity at the time and the vitality of his character, he was likely paid big bucks.

Throughout the last decade, Bob Saget continued to build his net worth. He appeared in a cameo role on HBO’s hit Entourage, being cast as a parody of himself. He even rejoined some of his TV family for Netflix’s Fuller House, a revival of the hit 90s series.

Bob Saget even made money writing his own memoir in 2014. It was titled Dirty Daddy: The Chronicles of a Family Man Turned Filthy Comedian. He even had a fan-favorite appearance on The Masked Singer in 2020, appearing as the Squiggly Monster in its fourth season.

Through the years, Bob Saget may have blown through quite a chunk of his net worth. He was married to Sherri Kramer, with whom he shares three daughters, from 1982 through 1997.

Details of their divorce aren’t known, but given the fact that this is right after he earned mega bucks on both Full House and AFV, Sherri may have been rewarded a large sum of his money.

Little is known about the comedian’s spending habits as well. However, he reportedly bought a home in the 90s in Los Angeles’ Palisades neighborhood for a price comparable to  $5 million today. In 2003, he also purchased an LA house for $2.9 million. 

At the time of his passing, Bob Saget’s net worth was $50 million. It is unclear how high his value once was or whether this was his lowest point since escalating to stardom after Full House.
