Red Dead Redemption 2 Mod Lets You Do The Most Hilariously Boring Thing
Rockstar’s gaming releases are known for letting players do whatever they want in an in-game world, ranging from hunting animals (and humans), robbing banks or stores, and driving just about any vehicle in any setting. This serving of the players’ imagination within Rockstar’s in-game worlds is further enhanced with player-made mods for the PC, and the latest among mods allows players to ditch crime and take up honest work in Red Dead Redemption 2.
A Red Dead Redemption 2 PC mod lets players ditch the outlaw life for mundane jobs.
According to ComicBook, the new mod for Red Dead Redemption 2 allows gamers to get a job for whatever reason. This is pretty neat, considering that this gaming masterpiece was criticized for being too slow, boring, and realistic, and modders have come up with the idea to liven the game by picking up a new, rather mundane profession.
The new mod adds six new jobs players can apply for, all of which can be found on job boards in various areas of the game. So, those who are sick and tired of wielding their revolvers and lassos can now give back to the in-game community they previously robbed.
Those playing Red Dead Redemption 2 can now choose to become a chauffeur, a ranch hand, pest control, a wagon protector, a postman, or a dock worker. All professions have their own unique playstyles; for example, wagon protectors protect passenger transport wagons from various animals or bandits found on the in-game road, while being a postman implies delivering people’s mail on horseback.
The mod brings six new jobs to Red Dead Redemption 2, giving players a little variety after reaching the endgame.
The added jobs are quite an interesting new feature to the game, as it brings a wider variety of things gamers can entertain themselves with. Admittedly, these activities aren’t as interesting or glamorous as hunting down bandits or being a bandit yourself.
But, as stated above, they can be a welcome change of pace, especially towards the Red Dead Redemption 2 end-game, where there’s actually not a lot to do outside of main missions, side quests, and collectibles.
The Future of Red Dead Redemption
It’s sad, really, that a masterpiece of gaming, to which Jack Black dedicated a whole segment of his new song, lost its support from its developer and publisher so fast in favor of other, not-so-great releases—we’re referring to the lousy GTA: The Trilogy.
In fact, it’s a shame that Rockstar Games abandoned Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Redemption Online as quickly as they did. The latter received a few measly updates before Rockstar turned their attention to their main moneymaker machine, the Grand Theft Auto franchise.
GTA V and GTA Online are fantastic titles, but they’re already over a decade old, and Rockstar would put them to rest by now if only they had finished the development of Grand Theft Auto 6, which has been confirmed and announced, but still lacks an official release date.
In other Red Dead Redemption news, the rumors regarding the original’s remaster are still swirling across the web, especially since the game received a new rating in Korea, leading the fandom to believe that the remake’s announcement might be imminent.
