Thanks to the new firmware update for Sony’s now more expensive PlayStation 5 console, players can now reveal PS5 hidden trophies at once, eliminating the need for selecting each trophy individually. Though it doesn’t seem like an important feature to average gamers, and it most certainly doesn’t improve the gaming performance like the new PS5 does, being able to reveal PS5 hidden trophies will make it easier for completionists and trophy hunters to keep track of all their trophies without having to reveal their info individually.

According to Destructoid, the newly-added toggle option enables showing automatic information for all PS5 hidden trophies across all PS5 games. So, instead of pressing the square button to learn the trophy’s name and criteria, you can now toggle the option for the game’s entire list of PS5 hidden trophies. It’s actually a good thing for gamers to have the spoilers tucked away and only revealed with the press of the button, but there’s a segment of the community that will jump at the first opportunity to reveal the trophy info in an attempt to collect all trophies.

Of course, a PS5 hidden trophy toggle is a highly welcomed option for gamers looking to attain the “100% complete” status on their save data without much fuss. This feature is likely to be most useful for those that have completed the game’s storyline, as it cuts down the time spent scrolling through the trophy list and finding hidden trophies. In fact, this option is perhaps best used after the first playthrough, as some gaming trophies contain spoilers, like Horizon Forbidden West. However, revealing all PS5 hidden trophies will have to be done on a per-game basis.

The drawback is that revealing PS5 hidden trophies can be done from the general trophy menu that contains all the players’ games instead of using each individual game’s trophy section. Maybe this is something that Sony could address in one of their future updates, and perhaps some of their multiplayer trophy issues the gaming community is concerned about. In the meantime, toggling hidden trophy information is most certainly one distraction less for completionists and trophy hunters who previously had to select trophies individually.

As for the firmware update, game lists are perhaps the most substantial upgrade, which allows players to organize their gaming libraries as they see fit. The new system now supports up to 15 different lists with up to 100 titles each, and one game can be added to multiple lists. The most highly requested feature, however, was the 1140p display support for those with 2K monitors (also known as QuadHD). PlayStation 5 console performs flawlessly on 4K displays, but it never favored those specific displays for some reason.

Lastly, apart from the PS5 hidden trophies toggle, the entire system has received plenty of quality-of-life updates, like the redesign of the quick menu and a handful of additional social features. There are likely smaller changes scattered around the system, but those mostly aren’t of much concern to the players. In the meantime, Sony is facing a massive lawsuit over the pricing of its games, the price of the console has increased significantly, and the new revised model has proven to be more energy efficient.
