Fall Guys Has A New Crossover With The Best Disney Movie
Fall Guys has added new Encanto skins to the game.
Following several updates to Fall Guys, some of which are sexually suggestive, Mediatronic decided to crossover the game with Disney’s Encanto by adding three additional skins to the game. It’s a surprising collaboration, and a very welcomed one at that, as it livens up Fall Guys. The battle royale already has a massive audience, which allows it to go toe-to-toe with some of the industry’s best, like Fortnite—whose developer has to pay more than $500 million in privacy-breach fines.
As reported by Destructoid, Fall Guys is now available across all platforms, and the game’s developer has announced one final event to round up the 2022 season by giving Disney-loving bean players three characters’ skins from the popular 2021’s feature film Encanto. Players can now obtain the aesthetics of quirky Mirabel, the mysterious Uncle Bruno, and the mighty Luisa. The point of this collaboration, as expected, is to draw in additional players to the already fun and engaging gameplay offered by Fall Guys.
The previous Fall Guys crossover featured skins from Microsoft’s Gears of War game, allowing gamers to battle it out “dressed” as Marcus Fenix (the gaming series primary protagonist), Kait Diaz (Gears 5 protagonist), and general RAAM—the High General of the Locust Army. In addition to new skins, Fall Guys launched on Nintendo Switch, became free-to-play, and introduced cross-platform play—one of the more important features associated with successful gaming titles. However, the newest addition of Encanto, though surprising and welcome, also indicates a possible future collaboration with Disney.
Players interested in Encanto skins can get them from December 29 to January 3 by purchasing them from the Fall Guys in-game store. Season 3 remains quite active among players, and those who purchased the battle pass can also obtain additional skins, like SpongeBob SquarePants and other costumes. The new update, besides including Mirabel, Luisa, and Bruno, also features two new emotes, new patterns, nameplates, nicknames, and more are to be added in future updates—and the list of upcoming crossovers is rather extensive.
Disney’s Encanto launched in 2021, becoming an instantaneous hit and giving Frozen a run for its money, especially with its musical content and incredibly catchy tunes. It was nominated for three Academy Awards, winning Best Animation Feature and becoming the highest-grossing film that year, despite the ongoing COVID-19 lockdowns and safety measures. It was eventually knockout out of first place by Illumination’s Sing 2.
For those unacquainted with Fall Guys, the free-to-play platform battle royale game involves up to 60 players controlling jellybean-like creatures and competing against each other in a series of selected mini-games. It’s basically a last-man-standing deathmatch comprised of mini-games such as obstacle courses or tag. The game received positive reviews from critics for its chaotic gameplay and visuals, going on to become a commercial success by selling more than 10 million copies and attracting more than 50 million players—which is four times more than World of Warcraft had at its peak.
