Player First Games finally announced Black Adam’s arrival to Multiversus, a Warner Bros. response to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and a game that gave Elden Ring a run for its money. Both the iconic character who got his cinematic appearance and a new game mode should join Multiversus later this week, confirming the rumors we mentioned in our previous reports. Following this reveal, Black Adam quickly disappeared from the game’s promotional material as Player First prepared to announce other WB characters.
The appearance of Black Adam was announced in the post-launch period, and according to Game Rant, three other characters have joined the game’s roster before the iconic character, despite being announced after him. This includes Gizmo from Gremlins, Rick from Rick and Morty — following Morty’s previous appearance — and Stripe, the villainous Mogwai from the Gremlins franchise, who appeared alongside Black Adam on the game’s loading screen. It was about time Player First introduced him, and we can argue that his introduction was planned to coincide with the film’s release.
Now that the previously revealed character is set to join Multiversus’ roster in a few days, it’s also worth noting that he’s not coming to the game alone. Player First also announced the release of the Arcade mode for the game, which will introduce more single-player-oriented content to the brawler game. Both the update and the increasingly popular anti-hero are set to arrive at the game as part of the same update within one week, though Player First hasn’t disclosed the exact release date, for whatever reason.
Multiversus usually adds new characters on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which likely points to a bigger update dropping in a few days on October 27. But this isn’t set in stone; Player First is known for delaying and postponing their announced characters to give them a bit more polish, as it happened with Gizmo, who appeared a couple of days after his initially announced debut. So, even if Black Adam doesn’t make it to the game in a couple of days, his appearance in Multiversus is inevitable.
This concludes the list of previously announced character appearances for season one of Multiversus, and fans can now ignite the rumor mill once again regarding the future additions to their favorite game. Thanks to the previously leaked information, the popular choices are Mark Hamill’s Joker, Marvin the Martian, Fred Flintstone, Nubia, and Raven. However, there are also a ton of characters that have been scrapped since they were leaked, including Gandalf, Legolas, Harry Potter, Mad Max, and plenty of others.
Nearly a year after it was announced and released, the Multiversus continues to be one of the most played games in 2022, giving Elden Ring — quite possibly the Game of the Year — a run for its throne. It continued to expand its rosters in the months following its release while also making Nintendo sweat over the prominence of its Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Those interested in kicking and punching through the WB’s colorful universe can do so on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and the discontinued Xbox One console.
