Zoey Deutch Wants To Join A Billion-Dollar Franchise
Zoey Deutch has revealed that she would love to join one of the biggest franchises in all of film history, no matter what.
With an unstoppable amount of content coming out from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, countless actors and actresses have been biding their time to audition for their spot alongside the Avengers. Now, Why Him? star, Zoey Deutch has officially thrown her hat into the ring. In an interview with ComicBook.com with her The Outfit co-star, Dylan O’Brien, the actress expressed a growing interest, or rather deep desire, to be added to the MCU’s roster.
Up next, fans of the prospective Marvel superhero (or supervillain!) can catch her in The Outfit, where Zoey Deutch will star opposite Academy Award winner Mark Rylance, Dylan O’Brien, Johnny Flynn, Simon Russell Beale, Nikki Amuka-Bird, and Alan Mehdizadeh. The thriller will take audiences on a journey inside an ex-Londoner’s (Rylance) garment shop in 1956 Chicago where he and his assistant Mable (Deutch) work with some dangerous clientele. Once known all throughout London’s Savile Row for his high-quality craft, the tailor relocates to America following a hard-hitting tragedy and discovers that his talents can only be afforded by a ruthless crew of gangsters. Soon, the shop owner and his assistant will find themselves deeply embroiled in a dangerous game. As secrets are revealed, viewers will be kept guessing as to who is truly who they say they are.
During her sit down, Deutch said she was “dying” to be cast in a superhero-based role, specifically for Marvel. When asked who she would want to play, the actress said there had been “a couple of people,” quickly catching herself before saying too much. This leads us to believe that Zoey Deutch has already jumped on the bull and began the rodeo of auditioning for MCU roles. With so many new films on the way, the possibilities of exactly who she could have been heading into the reading room for are endless. Most recently, it was revealed that Euphoria’s Sydney Sweeney has been cast in Madame Web in the newest Marvel film announcement. If this is the case and Deutch lost the role to The White Lotus actress, she can rest assured that more parts are on the way and that she’ll have better luck next time.
Starring in two runaway hits on Netflix, Zoey Deutch is known by many for her work in the Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan dramedy, The Politician. Featured in the series about an up and coming politician, Deutch joined an A-list cast which included the likes of Ben Platt, Lucy Boynton, Bob Balaban, Laura Dreyfuss, Julia Schlaepfer, Theo Germaine, Rahne Jones, and Gwyneth Paltrow with Jessica Lange, Judith Light, and Bette Midler. Prior to her time on the Netflix series, she starred in the streaming service’s rom-com, Set it Up. A hit among critics, Deutch would lead in the film with yet another top-tier call sheet including Glen Powell, Lucy Liu, Taye Diggs, Pete Davidson, and Tituss Burgess.
Although it stands to be seen as to whether Zoey Deutch will get her wish and land the Marvel role of her dreams, we are rooting for her. With such a diverse background in projects, the actress should be a shoo-in for any MCU-related role. Go get ‘em, tiger!
