See Zoe Saldana Back In Full Body Makeup As Gamora For Guardians Of The Galaxy 3
Zoe Saldana is in full Gamora makeup!

She was murdered in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, but it didn’t keep her down for long. When a version of Gamora from 2014 transported to 2023 along with her adoptive father and the rest of his forces in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, Zoe Saldana’s green-skinned assassin survived the chaos and stayed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s (MCU) present day. We’ll finally get a chance to see her reunited with her old (but not really) team in next year’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, and now Saldana has been kind enough to give everyone previews of her appearance in next year’s sequel.
On Wednesday, Zoe Saldana threw up two posts of herself on Instagram in full Gamora makeup. In one image, the actress writes “Gamora felt cute!” While she’s wearing a bathrobe, you can clearly see her Gamora hairdo, green face, green hands, as well as her unique face markings. Not content with just a picture, Zoe Saldana made a follow-up video post, in which she shares she had a 3:30 AM call for filming on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. She drums her freshly green fingers on the front of her bathrobe, waiting for some kind of brown shake to be ready. We’re assuming her face makeup can withstand the consumption of a shake; otherwise professional makeup artists everywhere may watch the video and cringe. You can see the video below.
Zoe Saldana shared a similar shot of herself in Gamora makeup on Instagram toward the end of December. However, it wasn’t quite as complete. The previous photo only showed her face — without even giving a clear shot of her hair — followed by silly shots of Saldana having fun without the green makeup. So while today’s post isn’t the first shot of her as Gamora in Guardians 3, it’s the most comprehensive.
It remains to be seen not only how Gamora will be reunited with Star-Lord and the rest, but when. The next appearance of — at the very least — most of the Guardians will be this July in Thor: Love and Thunder. This will be followed later this year with Disney+’s The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, and finally next year’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. If you take a gander at Zoe Saldana’s IMDb page, you’ll see of those three projects, Guardians 3 is the only one she’s listed as appearing in.
But that doesn’t jive with Marvel’s November 2021 press release, which definitively states that Zoe Saldana will appear in the Disney+ Holiday Special. Since James Gunn has confirmed that the Holiday Special will be part of the MCU canon, and that it takes place between Thor 4 and Guardians 3, that means either Marvel made a mistake in their press release, Gamora will reunite with the Guardians before Guardians 3, in her appearance in the Holiday Special she will still be separate from the team, or her appearance won’t be as Gamora in the present day; i.e. it will be along the lines of a flashback, a dream, etc.
