Fans of a dystopian society that is filled with sentient A.I., rejoice! The teaser trailer for Westworld Season 4 is officially here. Initially, HBO cleverly hid the trailer as an easter egg of sorts for fans to find, which didn’t take long, as the production company has posted the trailer themselves. This means that someone was quick enough to find the new trailer on YouTube for this to happen. Thank you to whoever that is. There is a lot to unpack in the trailer, including a bloody Man in Black aka Ed Harris. You can see the trailer below:
It is a little odd that HBO is calling this a teaser trailer considering the amount of content that has been jam-packed in this nearly three-minute offering. Series regulars are back in the trailer which includes Evan Rachel Wood, Jeffrey Wright, Ed Harris, and Thandie Newton. There seem to be more additions as well, which include the Oscar-winning star from West Side Story, Ariana Debose. She is reportedly going to appear in a recurring role in Westworld Season 4.
Some of the wild content is that of Aaron Paul hanging on the top of a skyscraper, and him being chased down by some sort of white unfinished cyborg. He is also screaming at the end of the trailer which goes well with the background song of “Perfect Day” by Lou Reed. Ed Harris is shown leaning against a pole with blood on his hands and shooting someone or something in the head. Typical for the Man in Black, as he is likely still trying to uncover the secrets of this cybernetic circus show. What is interesting is that all the A.I. beings are now free to roam the world, well free might be an understatement, but HBO has claimed this will be the first instance of the A.I. figures not being stuck in a robotic habitat. Westworld Season 4 looks wild.
There are some horrific images in the trailer as well, with some sort of swarm of bees, and a cyborg that has its face open with bees spilling out as well. Honestly, Westworld Season 4 looks to be just about as confusing as the rest of the series has been. A ton of mystery and questions will likely spawn from this upcoming eight-episode season. Although Westworld had been renewed back in April of 2020, it had been delayed much as everything else has been due to covid restrictions. Thankfully, the new season will be airing on HBO and HBO Max on June 26th.
Westworld Season 4 is only a little over a month away, and fans can catch up on this crazed show that will make everyone question their own reality. The series first premiered on HBO in 2016 and has since garnered plenty of support from fans. The series currently holds an overall critic rating of 81% with an audience rating of 77% on Rotten Tomatoes. The third season of the series may have dipped in overall acceptance, but HBO is clearly still backing one of its most mysterious ventures. Check out the new season on June 26th.
