Venom: The Last Dance Has Tom Hardy Fight The God Of The Symbiotes
All good man and Symbiote relationships must come to an end. Alas, it’s the rules of these things, especially where comic book movie trilogies are concerned, and this will be the case with Tom Hardy in Venom: The Last Dance. For one of the more surprisingly successful comic book movie franchises we’ve seen in a while, it looks like this crew goes out with a massive bang.
The Venom: The Last Dance trailer dropped recently and was a whirlwind of action, emotions, and even laughs for Eddie Brock and his symbiotic buddy. The extended look at the story even gave us the big bad for this flick. Knull, the King in Black, is making an appearance, setting things up for a last stand.
Check out the trailer for Venom: The Last Dance and tell me you aren’t dying for a Venom-like symbiote of your own to go on buddy adventures with.
Venom: The Last Dance puts Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock and Venom on the run when Earth is attacked by Knull and company, looking for the two. Knull is the creator of the symbiote, a powerful force in the Marvel universe.
But they are also trying to evade the Earth authorities as well, meaning there seems almost nowhere to turn.
The action appears dialed up all the way to the red line and there are plenty of laughs in this as well. Such has been the case throughout this run of Venom movies, with the pair’s relationship leading to plenty of awkward and silly moments.
From the looks of things, Venom: The Last Dance could also be the end of the Eddie Brock / Venom connection
From the looks of things, Venom: The Last Dance could also be the end of the Eddie Brock / Venom connection, with the trailer hinting or just outright saying the two will need to separate their bond in order to save the day. The stakes and emotions are here in a way we haven’t seen all that much from a franchise that’s brought considerably more humanity to a character than would have been expected.
Venom: The Last Dance concludes the trilogy of Marvel movies under the Sony banner that started with 2018s Venom. The first run was an enormous success, taking in more than $850 million at the box office and giving a standalone story to a Venom character who’d usually existed merely as an enemy in the Spider-Man universe.
Then there was 2021’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which took in $507 million. It wasn’t as universally praised as the first movie, but it was a solid follow-up.
Venom: The Last Dance is set to cap things off, though it doesn’t necessarily mean we’ve seen the end of these characters. Sony’s Spider-Man Universe of movies has had its ups and downs, with Morbius and Madame Web mostly sucking.
But Kraven the Hunter is scheduled for later this year. Plus, there’s always the chance for a full overlap in the Marvel Cinematic Universe or a Tom Holland return as Spider-Man to tie everything together.
We don’t have long to wait now. Venom: The Last Dance is due out in theaters on October 24th.
