Venom 3 Title Reveals The End Is Here
The title of Venom 3 seemingly confirms that this will be the last movie in the franchise. Officially called Venom: The Last Dance, the threequel has a release date of October 25, moved up two weeks. Starring Tom Hardy and directed by Kelly Marcel, the third film in the Venom franchise will apparently wrap up Tom Hardy’s Marvel story as told by Sony Pictures Entertainment.
The Cast
While specific plot details for Venom 3 remain shrouded in mystery, it’s confirmed that Tom Hardy will reprise his role as the lethal protector Eddie Brock/Venom. Joining him in this electrifying venture are actors Juno Temple (known for playing Keeley Jones in Ted Lasso), Chiwetel Ejiofor (known for playing Solomon Northup in 12 Years a Slave), and Clark Backo (known as Rosie in Letterkenny), promising audiences a star-studded cinematic experience.
The Director
Stepping into the director’s chair for her feature debut is Kelly Marcel, who co-wrote both 2018’s Venom and 2021’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Marcel also co-wrote the Venom 3 with Tom Hardy. The production team includes Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Hutch Parker, Marcel, and Hardy, guaranteeing a blend of creative minds dedicated to bringing this thrilling narrative to life.

The Venom franchise has already established itself as a force to be reckoned with. The first two films collectively amassed a staggering $1.3 billion in box office earnings and scored 80 percent or higher under the audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. The immense popularity of the enigmatic symbiote sets the stage for Venom 3 to make an even bigger splash upon its release.
Venom: The Last Dance Probably Won’t Be Winning Any Oscars
While the fans can’t get enough of the tongue-lashing alien symbiote, the critics aren’t as excited for Venom 3. The first movie’s critical consensus was that Venom’s inaugural solo outing was too chaotic, noisy, and missing an essential deeper connection to Spider-Man. Meanwhile, the second movie did slightly better by directly targeting fans who appreciated the original’s dynamic odd couple chemistry and the whimsical and light-hearted elements but still didn’t manage to get more than a 57 percent approval on Rotten Tomatoes.
With both movies earning low critical scores, it’s clear that the Venom franchise isn’t made for the cinephiles, but for the fans. If Venom 3 is anything like its predecessors, the film is sure to be filled with plenty of action, engaging fight scenes, and comedy.
Venom 3 Survived The Delays
Fans were first tantalized with the prospect of Venom 3 during Sony’s CinemaCon presentation in April 2022, and the anticipation has been steadily building ever since. The upcoming film marks Venom’s return to the big screen following a brief cameo in the credits sequence of 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Despite facing production delays due to the SAG-AFTRA strike last year, the team behind Venom 3 persevered, with filming resuming in November and now nearing completion. Juno Temple, one of the stars of the film, shared her enthusiasm for the project, describing it as a “wild, wonderful ride” and expressing confidence that audiences will be in for a treat.
