Universal Reveals New Orlando Theme Park To Fight Disney
Universal released an extensive video detailing its new Orlando theme park, Epic Universe, and it looks pretty amazing. The theme park is set to have five immersive and distinct worlds for parkgoers to explore. The recent video gave us our best look yet at the Super Nintendo World section of the park.
The Universal Epic Universe Super Nintendo World section will lead parkgoers through a warp pipe, where they’ll be transported to the world of Mario and friends. One of the feature attractions of the Super Nintendo World section is the Mario Kart ride, which equips riders with VR glasses to get an even more immersive experience in the renowned racing kart game. There’s also a family ride called Yoshi’s Adventure that will see riders help the Yoshies hunt for glowing eggs.
It seems like the Universal Epic Universe Super Nintendo World section will be pretty big, as there’s also a Donkey Kong Country section of this world. The Donkey Kong Country section has the Mine-Cart Madness ride, which has the extremely unique feature of looking like the cart jumps over a gap with no rails. Parkgoers will also get a unique Power-Up band that allows them to participate in challenges and interactive activities throughout Super Nintendo World, such as collecting coins.
Universal Epic Universe also previously revealed some details about the Celestial Park section, which acts as sort of a hub world to the other sections of the park.
Universal Epic Universe also has some other interesting worlds to explore, such as the Isle of Berk section of the park from the How to Train Your Dragon franchise. The Isle of Berk will transport parkgoers to a land of Vikings and dragons. Some of the promised attractions include a roller coaster and a live stage show.
Universal Epic Universe also previously revealed some details about the Celestial Park section, which acts as sort of a hub world to the other sections of the park. But beyond connecting the various park sections, Celestial Park also has some attractions of its own. Not the least of which is a dual-launching roller coaster called Starfall Racers and a massive carousel.
Finally, Universal Epic Universe will also introduce the Dark Universe, which focuses on some classic Universal monsters.
Those who have explored Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure in Orlando will be familiar with the Harry Potter sections of these parks. Harry Potter fans are getting another brand new world to explore at Universal Epic Universe with the Ministry of Magic. For now, there aren’t too many details about this section of the park other than the description that it explores international wizarding communities from 1920s Paris to the 1990s British Ministry.

Finally, Universal Epic Universe will also introduce the Dark Universe, which focuses on some classic Universal monsters. According to the current description, this section of the theme park features the experiments of Dr. Victoria Frankenstein and “a shadowy landscape where monsters roam.” It’ll be cool to see what rides they have planned for the Dark Universe and the Ministry of Magic, but we’ll have to wait for now.
Universal Epic Universe has slowly been unveiling more details about the park. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait too much longer to explore the park for ourselves. It’s set to open in 2025.
