See Tricia Helfer Prepping For Her Next Big Sci-Fi Production
Tricia Helfer celebrated day two of filming her new project.
Sci-fi star Tricia Helfer has been a fan favorite since her first sexy, yet very creepy, appearance on Battlestar Galactica as the Cylon Number Six. Since the greatest reboot in sci-fi history ended back in 2009, she’s reprised her breakout role twice and continued to be a genre television star thanks to Netflix‘s Lucifer and Syfy’s Van Helsing as a version of Dracula that takes over the White House. Now the Canadian actress has shared a very strange image on Instagram of what she dubbed “day two of filming” with no other context.
That is indeed Tricia Helfer, a small screen goddess, and early-aughts sex symbol, with under eye patches stuck under her eyes, likely being used to freshen up her face and get her ready for hair and makeup for day two of filming her current project.
According to IMDb, Tricia Helfer’s upcoming sci-fi project is Operation Rainfall: Chapter 2, the sequel to Operation: Rainfall which came out in 2020. If you have never heard of it, don’t worry; it was an Australian production that included Ken Jeong and Jason Isaacs. The film was about the last survivors of humanity trying to stand against invading aliens, and since there’s an upcoming sequel, they likely won.
In addition to adding Tricia Helfer, the sequel includes Danny Trejo, Casper Van Dien, and Jeremy Piven. A low-budget alien invasion movie produced by a small company in Australia is right on brand for the Lucifer star. No matter the size of the project or how absurd the script is, Helfer gives her all.
Beyond appearing on screen, Tricia Helfer also has an extensive list of voice acting credits from video games, including Kerrigan in Starcraft 2, Sonya Blade in Mortal Kombat X, EDI in Mass Effect 2 and 3, and Felicia Hardy in Spider-Man: Web of Shadows. Though she’s never had a major breakout role on the big screen, her career in smaller projects is the type of steady work other actors would love to have. That is not bad for someone that spent 10 years working as a model before deciding to try acting.
It was in 1992 that Tricia Helfer won the Ford Models Supermodel of the World contest, starting a career as a fashion model, which she retired from in 2002. Since then, the star has done plenty of photoshoots, but all are related to product endorsements, including Versace, Giorgio Armani, and Ralph Lauren.
Before Operation Rainfall: Chapter 2 comes out and explains the weird designs on Tricia Helfer’s face, the Step Up: High Water star will appear in The Great Salish Heist. A Canadian film about the theft of First Nations artifacts, it will continue her amazing streak of low-budget productions that get the full 100 percent of her acting abilities.
