Tom Holland Reveals Spider-Man 4 Involvement Is Greater Than Ever
Since the success of 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans have been desperate for any information about a fourth movie in the rebooted franchise kicked off by Tom Holland and Jon Watts with 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. Although it’s been a back-and-forth conversation with no clear plans sticking to the drawing board, Tom Holland says that he has been involved with the very beginning of planning for what will hopefully become Spider-Man 4. The actor says he’s sticking to the sidelines, “watching and learning,” and adds that he’s never been asked to join “in this process” so early.
Waiting For The Perfect Story
For those who may be worried about how anything could follow up No Way Home, Tom Holland says that’s precisely what the group working on Spider-Man 4 are spinning their wheels on. The actor knows that there’s “a legacy to protect,” and they don’t want to make another movie just for the sake of making a movie. Referring to the third installment as “so special in so many ways,” it sounds like the Uncharted star feels the same way that so many of us do about the heartfelt and complicated story that unfolded in the last picture.
Tom Holland Wants To Play Spider-Man Forever
And, if you were worried that Tom Holland would be the voice behind putting an end to Spider-Man 4 or even his run as Peter Parker, he made it clear that this would never be the case, even going as far as to say that he would “always” be down for a Spider-Man flick. The way he sees it, the actor said, “I owe my life and career to Spider-Man,” understanding the great power and great responsibility that comes with such a fan-favorite performance of the character.
Marvel Catapulted Tom Holland’s Career And Love Life
While some will remember that Holland got his start in Billy Elliot the Musical, followed by on-screen performances in movies including The Impossible and How I Live Now, it’s true that Spider-Man put him on a global radar and allowed him to skyrocket to stardom – even finding true love with his co-star, Zendaya, along the way.
Can No Way Home Be Topped?
For those who may be living on another planet and don’t know anything about why folks are asking Tom Holland about Spider-Man 4 everywhere he goes, No Way Home is considered by many to be not only one of the best films in the big screen lore of the character but in the MCU as a whole. It featured incredible cameo appearances from villains and Spider-Men of yesteryear, with Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire reprising their roles as Peter Parker from their respective franchises.
Blending action with emotionally-driven moments and acting that was simply on another level, it’s no surprise that No Way Home helped bring people back to the cinemas in a post-COVID world and earned more than a billion dollars at the box office.
Tom Holland Isn’t Done With Marvel Just Yet
As Kevin Feige and the MCU head in a different direction, introducing all sorts of new characters to the fold and essentially retiring the original Avengers team (for now), many fans have been wondering how things will shake out for Tom Holland and the hopeful Spider-Man 4. While Holland is staying busy with plenty of other projects, the future of his superhero franchise sounds like not only is it in good hands and being taken seriously, but that it’s something that he – and the creative team – see as worth fighting for.
