Is Andrew Garfield in the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home with Tom Holland? Maybe. Maybe not. But we know for sure that the two Spider-Man actors were together recently, and fans are losing their minds over the images.

GQ posted the photos this morning from the GQ Magazine Men of the Year party held Thursday night in Los Angeles. The magazine posted two photos: the first showing Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield clasping each others’ arms, and in the second they embrace. You can see the photos below.

With all the rumors, reports, speculations, theories, and so on, that Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire will appear with Tom Holland in Spider-Man: No Way Home, photographic evidence of the meeting of these two separate Peter Parkers drove Twitter users nuts. Sure, the fact that Garfield and Holland are in a picture in public has nothing to do with whether or not they were in a movie together, but no one seemed to care much. Twitter showered the images with love and joy.

There were, of course, users curious about the missing Spider-Man. Sure, here’s Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield, but where’s Tobey Maguire? Among the responders demanding to know Tobey’s location, there was at least one who had a likely answer –or, if not likely, at least funny.

A lot of fans couldn’t help but get the feels over the friendly hug between Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield. At least a few dozen hearts melted over the photos. In fact, at least one responder compared it to a much more romantic embrace.

And yes, there were those who took the photos as a sign we can expect to see them on the big screen together in December. In spite of months of denials from everyone involved, fans are — perhaps justifiably — convinced that Tom Holland will have Garfield and Maguire by his side in No Way Home. The GQ photos did nothing to cure them of that.

Just about every sliver of news that drops about Spider-Man: No Way Home leads to speculation about Garfield and Maguire appearing in the film, and the release of the second trailer was no exception. In spite of Tom Holland being the only Spider-Man in the trailer, eagle-eyed fans noticed that in a specific shot, Rhys Ifans’ The Lizard seems to be attacking someone who isn’t there. In fact, in certain versions of the trailer, the shot in question is slightly extended and shows Lizard reacting as if being struck by someone, once again, who isn’t there. Considering Marvel’s history of editing their trailers to trick audiences, the shots are understandably being taken as evidence of multiple versions of Spider-Man in the flick.

Then there are the allegedly leaked production photos of Maguire and Garfield appearing in shots with Tom Holland, with all three suited up in their respective Spidey suits. As a bonus, that photo was released along with an image purporting to show Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock in the film. We’ll know for sure on Friday, December 17, when Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theaters.
