Tom Hiddleston’s Marvel character, Loki, might be sitting at the end of time and holding all the branches together, but fans are hoping to catch a peek at the character in the upcoming film Deadpool & Wolverine.

If you were hoping for Tom Hiddleston to slip up and spill any beans, you’ll be disappointed as the actor is keeping a tight lip.

Giving a vague answer when asked about a possible cameo in the highly-anticipated third film from the Deadpool franchise, Hiddleston said, “I don’t know, and if I did… I might not be allowed to tell you.”

Ah, the Marvel snipers must be fixed on Tom Hiddleston as he gracefully dodged what could have been a damning question about Loki’s involvement in the MCU moving forward.

Keeping Quiet About Loki

The actor added, “I truly don’t know… Marvel are correctly protective of their information so that when you go to the movie for the first time, the surprises jump out of the screen. I’ve seen the trailer, it looks good.”

Just like his character, Tom Hiddleston is answering as a true trickster with his comments surrounding a rumored Loki return.

It’s neither a “yes” nor a “no” but with a fandom as speculatory as those backing the MCU, it’s almost a sure thing that both will be read into, dissected, and picked apart as if there’s one thing Marvel audiences love it’s getting a one-up on the studio and, in turn, spoiling it for themselves.

Deadpool & Wolverine Teases TVA

Before the trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine dropped, Tom Hiddleston and Loki’s names were far from in the mix, while other characters like Jennifer Garner’s Elektra had jumped to the front of the rumor mill.

But, after the teaser arrived during the Super Bowl festivities, everything changed. The big reveal that the Ryan Reynolds-led flick would have ties to the Time Variance Authority, a group first introduced in Disney+’s viewership-smashing series, Loki.

Loki Back In The Picture?

The Season 2 (and likely series) finale saw Tom Hiddleston’s once selfish character take it upon himself to solve the branching timelines, giving Loki the hero’s farewell that he’s always deserved.

But, if the TVA is back in the picture, could Loki be a part of it? Unfortunately, that’s just something we’ll need to wait to solidify as fact or otherwise when the movie arrives in cinemas on July 26.

TVA Apprehends Deadpool

So, where does this leave Tom Hiddleston and Loki as far as Deadpool & Wolverine is concerned?

Essentially at the same place we were before the Crimson Peak actor made his most recent comments – it’s completely up in the air. Unless he pulls a Tom Holland or Mark Ruffalo-like slip, we can only go off of what we know about the next installment in Deadpool’s chapter.

Aside from the whispers of Tom Hiddleston bringing Loki back into the fold, we do know that Deadpool & Wolverine will follow Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson aka Deadpool after he’s apprehended by the TVA.

More To Come

Although the trailer doesn’t give away why the agency is after him, it likely has something to do with all the timeline messing he did at the end of Deadpool 2.

The trailer also teased the familiar faces of Wade’s fiancee, Vanessa (Morena Baccarin), and an unexpected sighting of Lewis Tan’s Shatterstar who was previously killed off and not resurrected in the second feature.

Aside from Tom Hiddleston’s possible cameo appearance as Loki in Deadpool & Wolverine, the next time audiences will see him on the big screen is via Mike Flanagan’s Stephen King adaptation, The Life of Chuck.
