Despite years of controversy around his belief in Scientology, Tom Cruise remains the biggest movie star in Hollywood. Part of the reason for his longevity is the fact that he simply hasn’t slowed down. Even though his 58-years-old, Tom Cruise still does a lot of his own stunts and he’s always pushing the limit.

Nobody Runs With Tom Cruise

He takes what he does in movies so seriously that apparently he has a rule that no one is allowed to run next to him on film. Outside of riding motorcycles, Tom Cruise running scenes are one of the biggest staple of his action movies. They’re always noteworthy because, well, Tom Cruise is really good at running. Nobody runs faster in a movie than Tom Cruise and he’s not interested in slowing down for them.

This strange Tom Cruise movie rule was recently revealed to Screen Rant by Annabelle Wallis, Tom’s co-star in The Mummy movie. Here’s what she had to say…

“He’s on a different level, and, you know, I ticked a box. I got to run on-screen with him, but he told me no at first. He said, ‘Nobody runs onscreen with me’, and I said, ‘But I’m a really good runner’. So, I would time my treadmill so that he’d walk in and see me run. And then he added all these running scenes. So, that was it. It was, like, better than an Oscar. I was so happy! I was so happy that I got to run onscreen with Tom Cruise. But I don’t think it ever goes away and I hope it never does. It’s so wonderful to be excited by someone and in awe of what they’ve achieved in their lives. Yeah, good on him. And I hope the questions never stop. I love talking about him. It’s really cool.”

Normally a revelation of such an odd rule would be followed by resentment, but Annabelle seems to genuinely think that this odd rule, and Tom Cruise, are really cool.

That seems to be the reaction from almost anyone who has ever worked with Tom. The consensus on him is that he’s super intense, dedicated, and focused; but also incredibly nice and easy to work with.

Tom Cruise In Space

Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise may be 57-years-old and one of the biggest, wealthiest movie stars of all time, but that doesn’t mean he takes it easy. He’s notorious for pushing himself to the edge on his movies, doing most of his own stunts and taking crazy risks which often result in injuries. So if you’re Elon Musk and you want to shoot the first ever narrative movie in space, Tom Cruise is who you should call. And that’s exactly what he’s done.

Deadline reports that Elon Musk and Tom Cruise are planning to shoot a movie in space, probably on Elon Musk’s Starship. This won’t be a documentary, but rather a narrative film. The first ever narrative film shot in outer space. Both SpaceX and NASA would be involved in getting Tom Cruise outside our atmosphere and making it possible for him to shoot it.

There aren’t any other details right now, other than this is something they’re working on. It’s exactly the kind of challenge that Tom Cruise usually loves and if they pull it off, Cruise’s name will live forever in the record books.
