See Dune’s Timothee Chalamet As Batman’s Robin
Timothee Chalamet is currently one of the most in-demand young actors in Hollywood. Given his popularity, Chalamet has been the first choice for various castings.
With the release of Matt Reeves’ The Batman just a few months away, fans are eager to see Dick Grayson join the DC Extended Universe. While no official decisions have been made, Timothee Chalamet has emerged as a fan favorite for Robin and it’s easy to see why. Timothee Chalamet is currently one of the most in-demand young actors in Hollywood. The Academy Award-nominated star recently appeared as Paul Atreides, the protagonist of Dune, which will officially have its sequel hit the big screen in 2023. Given his popularity, Chalamet has been the first choice for various fan castings – especially as Dick Grayson/Robin, in Robert Pattinson’s The Batman universe.
Interestingly, Timothee Chalamet has said that he’s been advised against superhero roles by one of his acting idols. But that hasn’t stopped fans from championing their cause online. Now, thanks to some very cool concept art by digital creator Mizuri on Instagram, fans can see exactly what their fave would look like as Robin in The Batman universe. At present, Warner Bros and DC Comics have no plans to include Robin/Dick Grayson in any of their upcoming movies. But if the time comes, Timothee Chalamet would be an excellent choice. The Little Women star can currently be seen in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune, which is now playing in theaters and streaming on HBO Max until November 22.
Dune is an adaptation of the 1965 novel of the same name by Frank Herbert. The new movie comes after previous adaptations, like the 1984 film and a television series that aired in the early 2000s. The Timothee Chalamet film is directed by Denis Villeneuve from a screenplay he wrote with Jon Spaihts and Eric Roth. The popular young actor stars as Paul Atreides, alongside Oscar Isaac, Stellan Skarsgård, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Rebecca Ferguson, and Dave Bautista.
Dune tells the story of Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet), a brilliant and gifted young man born into a destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. All the while, malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s supply of melange, commonly called spice, a precious resource necessary for space travel.
Unlike previous versions, Timothee Chalamet’s Dune only adapts the first half of the book. The sequel with Zendaya in the lead will cover the rest. That story will focus on Chani Kynes, a member of the Fremen and the daughter of Liet Kynes – the imperial ecologist and planetologist of Arrakis. She forms a close bond with Stilgar (the leader of the Fremen) and features prominently in the second half of the book, introducing Paul and his mother Lady Jessica to the ways of the Fremen.
Meanwhile, The Batman (without Timothee Chalamet as Robin) will focus on Batman’s second year of fighting crime, as he uncovers corruption in Gotham City that connects to his own family while facing a serial killer known as The Riddler. Matt Reeves takes the helm as director and will be working from a script he wrote with Peter Craig. Starring alongside Robert Pattinson is a stellar supporting cast which includes Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, and more. The movie is scheduled for release worldwide on March 4, 2022.
