British Actors You’ll Recognize Make Up The Cast
Bodies is full of British actors whom avid Netflix subscribers are likely to recognize. For example, the series stars Jacob Fortune-Lloyd, who previously starred in Queen’s Gambit. It also stars Shira Haas (who starred in the Netflix miniseries Unorthodox) and Alexandra Roach (who starred in an episode of Black Mirror).
Every Scene Is A Feast For The Eyes
One of the reasons we loved watching Bodies so much is that almost every scene is a genuine feast for the eyes. The show was filmed in Kingston upon Hull’s Old Town, which means there are plenty of breathtaking Victorian buildings for viewers to enjoy. Other scenes were filmed on boats in York, giving audiences the powerful sensation of traveling throughout this gorgeous area even as the characters onscreen are unraveling a time travel mystery more complex than anything you’ll see on Doctor Who.

In its own way, the British series Bodies has some interesting things in common with the German series Dark. The latter show also features time travel mysteries and conspiracies that stretch back generations. Dark is a really great show, but for our money, Bodies is even better when it comes to delivering sci-fi chills and thrills.

We’re not the only ones who think so, either. On Rotten Tomatoes, Bodies currently has an 81 percent critical rating and a 74 audience rating, meaning that it’s both “certified fresh” and a genuine crowdpleaser. The joint appeal to critics and audiences is a big deal because it is evidence that Bodies is just as awesome for audiences who just want something entertaining to watch as it is to critics who are looking for edgy and innovative takes on genres such as science fiction.
