Although we still don’t have a trailer for the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, we’re at least getting some awesome artwork. The movie just released some officially licensed art in full comic book style. The end result is super impressive and it gives us an idea of what some of the heroes will look like in the movie. We’ve glimpsed the new duds for characters like Thor, Valkryie, and Jane Foster, but this artwork gave us a look at the radical new costume change for Korg as well. And if you’re feeling a little overwhelmed by all these names, make sure to get your Marvel movie order list out and watch the entire catalog to catch up before the new Thor movie hits. Check out the new costumes and the official artwork in the Reddit thread below:
If Thor: Love and Thunder is half as stylish as this artwork is, we’re going to be in for a treat when it finally releases this summer. In addition to seeing Korg sporting a cool new ram belt buckle, we see some more goat motifs in the upper left-hand corner, with red and white Asgardian goats featured alongside the 80s-style title. You can also see Thor wielding the ax Stormbreaker he obtained in Avengers: Infinity War while Jane Foster wields Mjolnir, giving her the powers of the god of thunder. Valkyrie can also be seen striking a pose in similar armor similar to the armor we first saw in Thor: Ragnarok.
Thor: Love and Thunder will be Taika Waititi’s follow-up to the acclaimed Thor: Ragnarok, which took the character of Thor in an exciting new direction. In Thor: Love and Thunder we’re going to get to see more of Waititi’s vision for the character while getting introduced to some new characters as well. Most notably, Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher villain. Fans are understandably excited to see what a dynamic actor like Bale can bring to the MCU.
Though the lack of a trailer has made it difficult to speculate on Thor: Love and Thunder, the toy releases and leaks have given us a decent amount of information about what to expect. For one, we know that Jane Foster will be taking on the mantle of Thor. This will mark Natalie Portman’s reappearance in the MCU after she co-starred in Thor: The Dark World. We also know that Thor will likely be traveling with the Guardians of the Galaxy at some point in the film, as Starlord, Groot, and Nebula are all set to make appearances. A recently revealed “Ravager Thor” action figure makes it seem like Thor may be joining up with Peter Quill’s adoptive space gang at some point as well.
While we don’t have a trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder yet, one would assume we would get one soon. The release date is less than three months away, so the trailer is very last-minute at this point. You’ll be able to see Thor: Love and Thunder, trailer or not, in theaters on July 8.
