Did we just see someone or someones from Eternals pop up in the new teaser for the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder?

Folks, we are two weeks away from the release of Thor: Love and Thunder znc our cup has now runneth over with preview content. And the newest teaser surrounding the highly anticipated Marvel feature has a lot of fans pausing their screens and focusing their eyes on some familiar faces – or rather – deities. Gazing through what looks to be a portal, we can very clearly see two Celestials on the other side giving us pause as to how and why they may be making an appearance in the new Thor flick.
The last MCU project the Celestials were featured in was in 2021’s Eternals, so it would be a pretty big deal if they made their next showing in Thor: Love and Thunder. In the comic books, the all-powerful and mighty beings have a rough and tumble history with the film’s main big bad – Gorr the God Butcher – so this could be how they fit into the storyline. And after all, they are essentially Gods themselves, so they may even be on Gorr’s hit list as the plot pans out. If this is the case, they’ll want to watch their backs because with a name like “God Butcher,” the new-to-the-MCU character is definitely going to be demonstrating how he landed the title.
Whatever the case may be, we know we’re in for a colorful, crazy, funny, and all-around over-the-top ride when Thor: Love and Thunder makes its way onto screens on July 8. The last time we saw the God of Thunder, he was setting off across the cosmos with a team of fellow Avengers – The Guardians of the Galaxy. The new film will see him and the Guardians, along with Valkyrie and Jane, who will reveal herself to be Mighty Thor, seek to bring down Gorr the God Butcher before he demolishes all the Universe’s Gods, including Thor. Korg will also be there, and we can’t wait for the one-liners he’s bound to deliver.
As always, the film features a dynamite cast including Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Taika Waititi, Russell Crowe, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Matt Damon, and Luke Hemsworth. Thor: Love and Thunder is also holding some cards close to its chest and not revealing certain possible cameos including Melissa McCarthy as a fake version of Hela, but we’ll let them keep their secrets. After all, that’s what part of the fun about the MCU is – you never know who will show up!
While Thor is known for being one of the funniest and best comedically timed Avengers (at least in our eyes), Thor: Love and Thunder will see him playing to a cast of characters equally as rib-busting. Between teenage Groot’s bad language, Drax’s deadpan, and Valkyrie’s sarcasm, audiences are in for a world of well-timed back-and-forth performances. We also can’t wait to hear exactly how the breakup between Thor and Jane went down, which was something that happened off-screen and a major previous fumble on Marvel’s part. With the separation now happening years in the past, the explanations on both sides are bound to be funny. With so many questions to be answered, we’re happy that the clock is ticking down to the big premiere of Thor: Love and Thunder.
