See The Fall Guy Opening Remade For 2024
Ryan Gosling’s The Fall Guy, a 2024 American action comedy directed by David Leitch, received plenty of praise following its release on May 3 this year, garnering $129 million at the box office. For those unfamiliar with it, the movie is loosely based on the 1980s TV series of the same name, whose opening sequence has now been remade using footage from the recently released movie.
The remade opening scene of The Fall Guy is a two-part video clip, with the first half dedicated to new content produced using Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt’s footage to create the same action-packed feel associated with the original opening scene from the ‘80s. Of course, it’s not a 1:1 copy of the original scene, but it captures the feeling it inspired in the ‘80s youth during the heyday of action-drama television shows such as The A-Team, Knight Rider, The Greatest American Hero, and of course, The Fall Guy.
The Fall Guy follows the adventures of Cold Seavers, who use his physical skills and knowledge of stunt effects to capture fugitives and criminals…
The second half of the video is reserved for the original opening of The Fall Guy series, with the series star, Lee Majors, performing the iconic Unknown Stuntman theme song. The same theme song was used in the recently released movie; however, the production team at Universal and David Leitch didn’t want Ryan Gosling to perform the song. Instead, the song performed in the movie is the same one used in the remade opening sequence, and it’s performed by the country legend Blake Shelton, who, admittedly, sings an updated version of the song.
The new Fall Guy is also placed in a modern setting and has some pretty wild action scenes involving fisticuffs, shootouts, and car chases, but it’s worth a watch.
For those who haven’t seen the original The Fall Guy, the iconic ‘80s series was one of the ABC original series airing from 1981 to 1986, starring Lee Majors, Douglass Barr, and Heather Thomas, who are Hollywood’s stunt performers by day, and bounty hunters by night. The Fall Guy follows the adventures of Cold Seavers, who use his physical skills and knowledge of stunt effects to capture fugitives and criminals while often accompanied by his cousin Howie and his fellow stuntwoman Jody.
The road to the silver screen wasn’t easy for The Fall Guy, especially since the project spent more than a decade in development hell.
The movie, however, changes this up a bit and follows Ryan Gosling’s version of the character who goes out of his way to search for a missing movie star he usually doubles as in movies after being talked into that by his ex-girlfriend Jody, who has become a movie director. The new Fall Guy is also placed in a modern setting and has some pretty wild action scenes involving fisticuffs, shootouts, and car chases, but it’s worth a watch.
The road to the silver screen wasn’t easy for The Fall Guy, especially since the project spent more than a decade in development hell. It was even associated with Dwayne Johnson at one point, who was in negotiations to play the lead role. Following a decade of stagnation, both Leitch and Gosling disclosed their work on an unnamed stuntman movie, which turned out to be a movie adaptation of The Fall Guy. If we haven’t made the movie and series appealing to you by now, we suggest watching the remade opening scene; it might nudge you to find and watch the movie.
