The Devil Wears Prada 2 Is Actually Happening With Everyone Returning
With nearly two decades passing since the premiere of the first movie, fans are ecstatic to hear that a sequel for The Devil Wears Prada is currently in discussion.
The Old Gang Is Back
According to Entertainment Weekly, The Devil Wears Prada 2 will be bringing back most of the original cast under the direction of David Frankel and Wendy Finerman, the first film’s director and producer.
Major stars Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci are soon to be reunited again, however, no comment has been made by any of their representatives about their return.

According to Puck News, who broke the story earlier this week, only Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt were in talks to return, but now the reported list has expanded. It Didn’t Seem Like It Would Happen
In 2021, Entertainment Weekly conducted a 15th-anniversary oral history interview about the making of the first film with Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Adrian Grenier, Gisele Bündchen, Frankel, and costumer Patricia Field. In the interview, the former cast is asked how they would feel being brought back for a The Devil Wears Prada 2.
While most of the responses from the cast made it seem like it wasn’t going to happen, Weisberger, the producer, ended her answer with: “There have been a lot of conversations about it. I wouldn’t say it’s out of the realm of possibility.”
The View
Anne Hathaway also talked about the idea of a The Devil Wears Prada 2 film in an interview with The View in 2022. Hathaway stated, “It is tempting to think about Andy and Emily needing to get Miranda her coffee and she’s somewhere in Europe, and then along the way they pick up Stanley Tucci in Italy, who’s at a restaurant.” However, the enticing statement was followed with her saying that it was an unlikely case.
The Novel
The original Devil Wears Prada was adapted from Lauren Weisberger’s novel of the same name, based on her ten-month stint working as an assistant to Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
There are two additional books within the series, the third, When Life Gives You Lululemons, was released in 2018, so The Devil Wears Prada 2 already has plenty more source material to work off of. It is rumored that the new movie will explore the current downfall of print media.
