The Boys Characters That Killed More Supes Than Anyone Isn’t Who You Think
If you were to guess, who do you think would be the biggest supe killers in Amazon’s The Boys? Well, I went through both The Boys and Gen V and counted how many supes each character kills, and I’m guessing most people would pick either Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) or Homelander (Antony Starr) as the person who had made the most supe kills. In fact, the character who has killed the most supes in the screen franchise—with a supe body count of 9—is Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles).
Soldier Boy
It makes sense that Soldier Boy has the #1 spot, since his entire goal in Season 3 of The Boys is to go full tilt supe killer. Once the Boys free him from his Russian holding cell, he goes after the former members of his old team, Payback, to get back at them for turning him over to the Russians.
In “The Last Time to Look on This World of Lies” Soldier Boy murders Crimson Countess and in “Here Comes a Candle to Light You to Bed,” he takes out his old teammate Mindstorm.
The rest of his supe killer body count comes from “Herogasm” and at first it’s impossible to get a precise number. His targets in the episode are the TNT supe twins, but we know he also kills and injures dozens more. Starlight (Erin Moriarty) gives us a ballpark, saying that he killed a dozen supes and civilians, but without saying how many of that dozen were supes.
Homelander helps us out in “Here Comes a Candle to Light You to Bed.” While trying to convince the imprisoned Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott) to help him, Homelander says Soldier Boy has killed “Crimson Countess and 7 other heroes.”
Two of those 7 have to be the TNT twins, and when Homelander talks to Maeve, Soldier Boy has yet to kill Mindstorm. So that means Soldier Boy killed 5 unnamed heroes at Herogasm. That, plus the 4 members of Payback he murders, make 9.
Stormfront Is #2
Lagging behind Soldier Boy by only one supe kill is Stormfront (Aya Cash), with a total of 8 supe kills.
The first time we see Stormfront as a supe killer is in Season 2’s “Over the Hill With the Swords of a Thousand Men,” when she brutally murders Kimiko’s brother Kenji (Abraham Lim).
We actually don’t get to see most of her supe kills in The Boys. The majority of them take place in “The Bloody Doors Off” when The Boys infiltrate the Sage Grove Center where supes are being experimented upon.
During their infiltration, the supes break out and Stormfront kills 6 of them. We know this because when she shows up and confronts Lamplighter (Shawn Ashmore), she says, “I just killed 6 subjects out there like a f–king teddy bear picnic. What the hell happened?”
Stormfront’s eighth and final kill is herself. Barely surviving the injuries she takes in the Season 2 finale, she swallows her own tongue in Season 3’s “The Only Man in the Sky” after Homelander tells her he has no interest in furthering her quest of so-called racial “purity.”
One Caveat – There Might Be A Tie
There is a reason to believe there could be a tie for the rank of #1 supe killer between Soldier Boy and Stormfront, though it’s a little flimsy without further evidence.
Remember Termite (Brett Geddes)—the shrinking hero who, in the Season 3 premiere, crawls into another man’s body through a very unexpected means? Well, he’s one of the victims of “Herogasm,” but not by Soldier Boy’s hand.
Not long after Soldier Boy unleashes his deadly power-nullifying blast at Herogasm, we see the shrunken Termite hurt and calling for help. His “help” comes in the form of Homelander’s boot, crushing and killing him.
I think it’s possible that when talking to Maeve, Homelander counted Termite among those supes killed by Soldier Boy. Not only because it would shift any blame away from him, but because of the twisted way Homelander thinks (i.e., “I wouldn’t even be there if it weren’t for Soldier Boy so it’s Soldier Boy’s fault, not mine”).
If that’s the case, then it would lower Soldier Boy’s supe killer count to 8, making a tie with Stormfront.
But until something like that were to be confirmed, the #1 supe killer spot stays with Soldier Boy. Yay, Soldier Boy.
