The Boys Season 4 Just Had Its Fate Sealed
Are they coming back?

The third season of The Boys is well underway and it doesn’t look like the hit Amazon superhero series will be slowing down anytime soon. It has been confirmed that The Boys Season 4 has the green light and we’ll be getting at least one more (with probably more to come) season of Billy Butcher, Homelander, and the rest of the crew. According to Amazon, the audience for the series has grown 17% from Season 2 and 234% from Season 1. With numbers like those, it’s hard to argue with Amazon’s decision for more.
The Boys Season 4 will add even more to the presence of the franchise on Amazon. The wild success of the series has led Amazon to already release the animated anthology spin-off The Boys Presents: Diabolical, which tells different stories in The Boys universe in different animation styles. There is also another upcoming spin-off in the works that will focus on America’s college for young superheroes.
The Boys‘ third season already has four episodes available for fans to check out. The first three episodes hit the platform on the same day, with the most recent episode being released today. The third season will continue airing new episodes every Friday until the finale premiers on July 8. Until then, we likely won’t know what direction The Boys Season 4 will be heading story-wise. Right now it’s not looking good for the titular team. After taking out the former/current Nazi Stormfront last season and finding a way to keep Homelander from getting out of hand, Hughie (Jack Quaid) found out he was working for the same supe that exploded the heads of a bunch of politicians last season. Now Hughie is ready to embrace Butcher’s (Karl Urban) way of doing things to find a weapon that can take out Homelander (Antony Starr). This path will also lead them to chase the mystery of the early superhero Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles).
The Boys Season 4 always seemed like an inevitability, especially after star Karl Urban accidentally let it slip that he was filming for The Boys past when production for the third season had already wrapped. Still, it’s good to hear official confirmation. The Boys is created by Eric Kripke and based on the comics by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. In addition to Urban, Quaid, Ackles, and Starr, the show stars Erin Moriarty, Chace Crawford, Karen Fukuhara, Dominique McElligot, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capone, Nathan Mitchell, Giancarlo Esposito, Colby Minifie, and Claudia Doumit.
We have plenty more of the third season of The Boys before we have to start worrying about when we can see The Boys Season 4. As with previous seasons, there will be eight episodes for Season 3, and we’re only halfway through at this point. Although there was a gap year between Season 2 and Season 3 of The Boys, with the former coming out in 2020 and the latter in 2021, the pandemic likely had a lot to do with that. With Urban apparently already filming scenes, it wouldn’t be surprising if we got to see the fourth season in 2023.
