We’ve had quite the run-up for The Boys Season 3 on Amazon with the streamer teasing out more and more material over the last couple of weeks. But this weekend we started getting close to the actual goods with the trailer for this upcoming set of episodes finally releasing. Frankly, it seems like everything we could ever dream of and more for this series including the first looks at Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy and Laurie Holden as Crimson Countess. And along with those two, it’s a relative tour-de-force of NSFW goodness right in line with what we’ve seen over the first two seasons of the show.

Premiering at the SXSW festival and posting on the show’s official Twitter account, The Boys Season 3 trailer had a little bit of everything. It sets the stage for another dip into this universe of Supes, Vought International, and the small group of resistance fighters who’ve tasked themselves with upending the show’s current culture of superheroes as celebrities. Plus there are the aforementioned Jensen Ackles and Laurie Holden who look like they fit right in off the bat. Check out the trailer for The Boys Season 3 and tell me you aren’t pumped for this show to finally hit the streamer.

Amazon clearly wants to remind us that The Boys Season 3 isn’t safe for work and frankly, that feels like a massive understatement. We start off with Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher who after looking into the mirror a bit gets a fiery flash through his eyes. It’s a reference to the probability that he’s given himself a little Compound V for a superhero-like upgrade to deal with the likes of Homelander. And then, of course, there’s Antony Starr’s faux-patriotic character, looking more than a bit troubled after the events of the previous season.

But what starts as a knuckle-tightening first look at a lot of the characters quickly shifts into the relative silliness the show is also known for so far. There are plenty of bright lights and corny choreography from some of The Seven who still remain in the limelight for The Boys Season 3. Heck, it even looks like Homelander and Erin Moriarty’s Starlight have entered into a media-driven relationship of sorts. Plus we get some toilet stall sex, blood spattering, Supe-inspired sex toys, human limbs breaking, sword fights, puking, tears, cow milking, cafeteria dance routines, and much more. It’s glorious.

In terms of the newcomers, we get a brief glimpse of Laurie Holden’s Crimson Countess who disintegrates some kind of blobby structure at a local carnival. And there is also Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, every bit the Captain America rip-off who looks like he’s featured in some possible found footage. In all, this was a fantastic return look at The Boys Season 3, lending credence to the idea that the show wants to continue taking the series right to the very edge. If anything, this first look would have it appear the show has gotten even wilder which is really saying something.

The Boys Season 3 is set to premiere on Amazon Video on June 3rd. We could be looking at the most bananas season yet.
