The Boys Season 3 has already been full of surprises. The season opened up with exploding genitalia and it isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. It turns out that the surprises aren’t done yet, as it has been revealed that Paul Reiser is appearing in the series as the fan-favorite character from the comics “The Legend.” The Legend is a parody/homage to the late Stan Lee and becomes something of a resource for the Boys in the comics. This should add an interesting element to what has already been an enjoyable season.
The Legend is set to appear as early as the next episode of The Boys Season 3. In the comics, The Legend was a former employee of Vought-American’s Victory Comics. He left Vought and lives under a comic bookstore, offering the Boys his knowledge of the supes that he gained from writing their comics for years. The Boys TV series hasn’t been afraid to deviate from the source material, so it remains to be seen if he serves a similar role in the upcoming episodes.
The Boys Season 3 does seem like the perfect time to bring The Legend into the fold. In the previous episode, The Boys were looking for the superweapon that supposedly killed the super Soldier Boy so they could use it against the invincible Homelander. However, the Boys found Soldier Boy himself, with some notable upgrades from his earlier superhero days. It seems like Soldier Boy had become an experiment of sorts, giving definite Captain America combined with the Winter Soldier vibes. Perhaps the Boys will get some useful information from the Legend about Soldier Boy and potential weaknesses to take down Homelander.
The Boys Season 3 is halfway done, with the next episode hitting Amazon Prime Video tomorrow. With the Boys, at least Hughie and Billy Butcher, now evening the playing field with some superpowers of their own, presumably there will be some big confrontations in the future. While it seems like they could be working toward an endgame with this season, Karl Urban accidentally let it slip that he was filming episodes of The Boys after Season 3 had already wrapped. Meaning we’re getting The Boys Season 4. Whatever happens in this season, there will be more stories to come, including more heroes to be unveiled.
The Boys Season 3 stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, Chace Crawford, Dominique McElligott, Claudia Doumit, Colby Minifie, Giancarlo Esposito, and Jensen Ackles. The series is created by Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg and is based on the comics by Garth Ennis and Darick Robinson. If you can’t get enough of The Boys, you can check out the animated anthology The Boys Presents: Diabolical while you wait for new episodes of the mothership series. There is also another spin-off series in the works that will follow the only college in America for supes. You can catch new episodes of The Boys every Friday.
