The Boys Season 3 is starting to feel like it’s right around the corner and we are gearing up for what should be another high-intensity, very R-rated romp through a whole new universe of supes, evil corporations, comically adept resistance fighters, and a whole lot more. The show has become one of the better series out there, offering a great juxtaposition to the rest of the comic book adaptation genre on the big and small screen. And they’ve also got it down on how to promote the series as well. The latest look at The Boys Season 3 has the characters getting a little Dark Knight in their approach.

Posted on the official Twitter account (via Comicbook.com), we got a chance to catch up with some characters prior to The Boys Season 3. The five promotional posters each feature one of the actual The Boys, the group that’s tasked themselves with taking down the corrupt Supes as well as their parent organization Vought International. The different posters each feature some reference to a movie in the Batman franchise of films. Check out some of these looks as we get pumped for a whole season of the series

Each one of these posters is great and each has a reference to a Batman movie or production of the past. Starting with the most recent The Batman, which just hit theaters, we get Karen Fukuhara’s The Female, a silent, but extremely deadly killer who joined the group somewhat reluctantly in Season 1. Then there is Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher with the reference to The Dark Knight trilogy of films. Jack Quaid’s Hughie references the Val Kilmer version of the Caped Crusader from Batman Forever. And then there is Laz Alonso’s Mother’s Milk with a callback to the “original” Michael Keaton version of Bruce Wayne. And finally, Tomer Capon’s Frenchie gets the animated treatment from the 1992 series.

In all, these are just another round of fantastic pieces of promotional material setting up The Boys Season 3 which is due out on June 3rd. Through the first two seasons, we’ve been treated to a bloody and raunchy adaptation of the source material, the comic book series created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. A new spin on the superhero genre, this one puts those with the superpowers in positions of fame, fortune, and popularity which often corrupt the hell out of them. This leads to the Butcher-led The Boys working to undo much of what society has wrought on itself. It’s been amazing.

The Boys Season 3 will bring back the titular group along with members of The Seven, Vought’s own Avengers-like grouping of mostly terrible supes who are led by the worst of them all, Antony Starr’s Homelander. The Superman-esque “hero” is mostly evil incarnate. This season will also introduce a new character to the series with Jensen Ackles playing Soldier Boy. Before we get the series back up and running for a third season, there’s a chance to step back into this world in the short-term. That’s with the animated series The Boys Presents: Diabolical, a set of shorter, animated featurettes that highlight different stories and characters from this world.
