Through three seasons on Amazon Prime, The Boys has more than delivered on the promise from the popular comic book series, taking risks and creating an NSFW world that appeals to those looking for a break from the sometimes rather vanilla Marvel Cinematic Universe. The show hasn’t held back at all and there’s more coming in this world sooner than later.
We are getting Gen V as a new series coming from the same creative team and in the same world with the above image offering something of a glimpse of what we are going to get with the show. It’s set in the popular college in The Boys’ world and we are likely looking at Animal House meets Charles Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters. It could be a debaucherous and super-powered mess of a series.
The above shot comes from the Vought International official Twitter account (via Comic Book) which has planted itself firmly in the world of The Boys and acts as the “official” social media presence for the company. In this shot, we get a shoutout to Godolkin University which is the college set in this world created for those “gifted” with the powers everyone craves.
This shot is from the planned student union at the college and includes shots of The Boys‘ Supes we already know like Homelander, Starlight, A-Train, and Black Noir hanging from the rafters. There are a number of Supe-endorsed products available as well, knowing that the main goal among the “heroes” in this world is all that branding.
While it’s not totally known how Gen V will take The Boys story, we do know that it’s primarily set at the college, will be R-rated through and through, and is meant to poke fun at the X-Men among other groups. Because those mutants were often housed or sent to Professor X’s school, the same will happen here though it will be a lot less wholesome for sure.
In many ways, it will probably more resemble an actual real college though with folks who have all kinds of crazy powers and massive egos. While at school they are competing for contracts in cities, something we’ve seen happen among the folks in The Boys as they work to be part of The Seven.
We already know most of the main cast of Gen V which will include Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau, Lizze Broadway as Emma Shaw, Chance Perdomo, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, and Derek Luh. Series creator Eric Kripke, who also show-runs The Boys, has intimated that there will be some crossover with the main show here, though it’s not clear just how much involvement we will see from that group. It’s likely only in cameo form to start as the world of Godolkin University begins to take shape.
The Boys spinoff Gen V is currently filming and we are likely to get some word soon about when this show will hit Amazon Prime. It’s sure to be another raucous and raunchy addition to this universe which also includes the animated series The Boys Presents: Diabolical.
