The gang is back and they’re hanging out down the street – or rather the next generation is as Season 2 of Netflix’s That ‘90s Show is now streaming. After being left on a cliffhanger following the first season, it’s great to pick up where we left off with the new and returning faces of the sitcom. There’s still plenty of drama, laughter, basement hangs, and advice from Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp) and Red (Kurtwood Smith) as Leia (Callie Haverda) returns to Point Place, Wisconsin for another summer.

Season 1

Last season on That ‘90s Show, audiences were introduced to Eric and Donna’s daughter, Leia Forman (Haverda) who left her parents behind for the summer to stay with her grandparents, Kitty and Red in Point Place, Wisconsin.

Upon her arrival, Leia met some of the neighborhood kids, including the punky teen girl Gwen (Ashley Aufderheide) and her jockey half-brother, Nate (Maxwell Acee Donovan), Nate’s girlfriend, Nikki (Sam Morelos), computer genius Ozzie (Reyn Doi), and the lovable yet completely clueless Jay Kelso (Mace Coronel) who is the son of Michael Kelso and Jackie Burkhart from That ‘70s Show.

A Fitting Follow-Up

Throughout the season, the kids get into trouble and fall in love, with the season finale ending on a cliffhanger after Jay and Leia debate whether their romance is long-lasting or just for the summer.

Meanwhile, a close moment between Leia and Nate revealed that there may be more between the two friends than platonic feelings.

Cameos

For many viewers, the first season of That ‘90s Show hooked them in because it featured cameo and recurring roles from the pals of yesteryear. Topher Grace, Mila Kunis, Laura Prepon, Ashton Kutcher, and Wilmer Valderrama all reprised their roles from the beloved That ‘70s Show, allowing fans to catch up with what the friends had been up to in the nearly two decades since the series went dark.

This time around, there will be fewer cameos made by the original crew but other famous faces like Seth Green will pop in.

Going On Without The 70s Crew

Not including the cast that started it all for Season 2 of That ‘90s Show will prove to either make or break the sitcom as it will show whether the new kids on the block can support themselves or if it was the nostalgia that kept audiences locked in. Of course, there’s still Kitty and Red at the beating heart of the story and plenty of references to the original series which longtime fans will be sure to notice.
