See The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Return In New Movie Trailer
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back once again, in a brand-new animated film that is based on a series from Nickelodeon. The film will debut on Netflix and the trailer has dropped.
Everyone’s favorite crime-fighting, shell-having, teenage turtles are back! That’s right, the Teenage Ninja Mutant Ninja Turtles are back for a brand-new animated film that will be debuting next month. This new film is based on the popular Nickelodeon series, Rise of the Teenage Ninja Mutant Ninja Turtles, and features the cast from the series returning to voice Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo. The film is called Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie. Quite a fitting title. You can see the action-packed trailer below:
Anyone who happens to be a fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and has yet to have seen the series on Nickelodeon will notice that the turtles in this version have gone through a bit of a redesign. More importantly, Raphael looks massive in comparison to the rest of the gang. Also, anyone who happens to be a fan of Sonic the Hedgehog will also notice a familiar voice, as Ben Schwartz (Sonic) voices Leonardo in the TMNT series and this upcoming film. The trailer alone brings back some of the turtle’s most familiar foes, including the Krang. Casey Jones is also from the future and travels back in time to tell the turtles about the impending danger the Krang is posing. The series is the fourth animated series in the long-standing franchise, and the film coincidentally is the fourth as well.
Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie stars Ben Schwartz as Leo, Omar Benson Miller as Raph, Brandon Mychal Smith as Mikey, Josh Brener as Donnie, and Eric Bauza as Splinter. There are a ton of characters involved that have yet to be identified, but that information will likely come out sooner rather than later. We are curious to see who is portraying Casey Jones, as he has been one of the biggest fan-favorite characters in the franchise. The film is directed by Andy Ward and Andy Suriano, both of which have also worked on the series.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles went through a bit of a lull based on the odd live-action films that had been released in 2014 and 2016. The films had been produced by Michael Bay but had failed to truly live up to expectations. This new animated series followed shortly in 2018 and has been met with some better success. It had also been reported some time ago that Seth Rogen and his writing partner Evan Goldberg are working on their own animated reboot film of the franchise. That film is expected sometime in 2023.
Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie does bring some great action and a much different look at the turtles. However, it does feature a great cast. Although nothing has lived up to the fantastic TMNT film that was released in 2007, we are excited to see this new feature. Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie officially debuts on Netflix on August 5th. Fans can see all the favorites return to proper form, though there is no Shredder in the film. At least, he hasn’t been shown just yet. He is always lurking in the shadows.
