Netflix is one of the best streaming services right now for stand-up comedy. They’ve got everything from Joe Rogan looking so sweaty and red his head could pop like a pimple any second to Bo Burnham making his COVID-induced cabin fever everyone else’s problem. With all of the amazing comedy specials to choose from, it can be hard to pick the best one. Just kidding, it’s Taylor Tomlinson’s Have it All and you should go stream it on Netflix right this instant.

Have It All

Tomlinson is having a banner year. Between her late-night talk/panel show @fter Midnight and the new special, she’s been killing it. However, as hilarious as @fter Midnight is, Taylor’s comedy genius usually takes a back seat to whomever the guests are on that given night.

If you really want a taste of her stand-up chops you need to watch Taylor Tomlinson: Have it All on Netflix.

Look, I know comedy is subjective. Some people might laugh at Larry the Cable Guy, while others enjoy a life free of traumatic brain injuries. I know not everyone is going to agree that Taylor Tomlinson is the funniest comedian on Netflix. Just the smart people.

A Successfully Themed Special

Taylor’s newest special dropped earlier this year and immediately became one of my favorite things ever. The premise of the aptly named Have it All is that women can choose to have fame and success or true love and a family but seldom both.

If that seems super specific and hard for the average Joe, Josephine, or Jacket—gotta represent my enbys reading this—to relate to, don’t worry. She has other jokes, too.

Let’s be honest: comedy specials that have “themes” hardly ever stick to them. Unless it’s some really out-there “alternative” comedy special like Neal Brennan’s 3 Mics, a show’s theme is usually confined to the beginning, the end, and the title.

Have it All, like Taylor Tomlinson’s other two Netflix specials, seems on the surface to be targeted toward a niche audience, but the material connects regardless of demographic.

Other Specials

For example, I didn’t watch Taylor’s Quarter-Life Crisis until I was close to my own half-life crisis. As in, I’ve been waiting 20 years for Valve to release Half-Life 3. Get it? Maybe this comedy stuff isn’t so hard after all.

No, but seriously. You don’t have to be in your mid-twenties to enjoy Quarter-Life Crisis just like you don’t have to be rich to enjoy Have it All.

Perfect Delivery

When Tomlinson talks about preparing a date to meet her rotten family only to look like the crazy one when they act all normal, it resonates with anyone whose ever introduced someone to their parents.

Likewise, who hasn’t wondered if they were really bisexual or if they just “binged Euphoria too fast?” Even her bit about bidding an insane amount of money to win an auction for Hugh Jackman’s glove is hilarious, regardless of whether you can empathize.

That’s the beauty of Taylor Tomlinson’s Netflix specials. Her delivery and execution are so good that you can’t help but laugh even if the joke doesn’t personally resonate with you.

Her joke in Quarter-Life Crisis about how trying to get a man in his twenties to wear a condom is like trying to get a child to wear a jacket over their Halloween costume is an all-time classic.

GFR SCORE

Even if, like myself, you’ve never tried to get a twenty-something guy to wear protection, just the way she yells, “Nooooo you’re gonna ruin it!” will have you choke-laughing like that kid you went to school with who used to shoot milk out of his nose every time someone said “boobs.”

In fact, if you don’t laugh at that joke, you should go get your oil changed. You know, because you’re a robot. Hmmm, on second thought, maybe I should leave the jokes to the professionals.

Bottom line: if you’re looking for a gut-busting laugh riot, you really can’t go wrong with Taylor Tomlinson’s Have It All on Netflix.
