Tatiana Maslany has become wildly popular, and that is without her MCU appearance even happening yet. She-Hulk is nearly here, as the series is set to debut on August 18th. In one week, we are going to see the woman take on the role of Jennifer Walters for Marvel. However, even while fans patiently wait for that show to debut, Maslany is staying plenty busy. The actress has already booked her next gig, as she is set to star and serve as an executive producer for a show called, Invitation to a Bonfire. The series is being produced for AMC.

Invitation to a Bonfire is based on the novel of the same name by the author Adrienne Celt. The story is a psychological thriller set in the 1930s. The setting is an all-girls school where Zoya, a Russian immigrant, works as a groundkeeper. Zoya gains the attention of Leo, who is the school’s newest teacher. The novelist gets involved with Zoya and creates a love triangle between her and his wife, Vera Orlov (Tatiana Maslany). Vera plays the part of Leo’s wife, muse, and editor. Vera is meant to be inspired by Vera Nabokov. The love of Vera and Leo is said to be inspired by the real-life marriage of Vladimir and Vera Nabokov. Freya Mavor will be playing Zoya, and Pilou Asbæk will portray Leo. The first season is set to be six episodes.

Tatiana Maslany is no stranger to thrillers, as she was the star of Orphan Black, a thriller series made for BBC America. Maslany portrayed Sarah Manning, which saw her appear in all 50 episodes. Sarah is a hustler with a troubled past. When a woman that looks like her takes her own life, Sarah takes steals the woman’s identity, leaving her troubled past to catch up with her. The series ran from 2013 to 2017. The show was met with plenty of positive praise and ended with a 93% critic rating and 92% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Maslany’s performance in the show likely led to her landing the lead in She-Hulk. It is good that she will be returning to the thriller genre after appearing as a superhero in a show that looks to be equally action-packed and hilarious.

She-Hulk is set to premiere in one week, though it will be some time until we see Tatiana Maslany in Invitation to a Bonfire. The series has a 2023 designation, which could mean we are going to be seeing the new AMC show premiere in the fall months of 2023. The show has only been announced, but should production start in the new few weeks, we are likely to see her new series at least one year from now.

For now, we can all see Tatiana Maslany team up with Hulk, as she takes on the life of being a superhero and lawyer in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. It will be exciting to see her range from Orphan Black to She-Hulk. She could be a mainstay in the MCU as well, with more appearances and potentially becoming one of the Avengers for Phase 5.
