Currently, on television, there are a few stars and creators who have made modern stories into must-watch events. Taylor Sheridan is one of those multi-hyphenate writers/producers/directors that keep a consistent hold on what American viewers want most out of the characters within his projects. With the culmination of prequel 1883 out of the way and Yellowstone entering its fifth season later this year, Sheridan has shepherded in groundbreaking plots and pop culture treasure troves for an entire generation of fans. His latest joint effort with actor Sylvester Stallone might just be his best yet, as the new series looks to add stellar cast members to its already impressive lineup.

According to a report from Deadline, the new series Tulsa King will debut on Paramount+ with television icon Dana Delany joining the growing cast. Playing the character of Margaret to Sylvester Stallone’s Dwight “The General” Manfredi, Delany will also be seen onscreen alongside Mudbound’s Garrett Hedlund, I’m Sorry alum Andrea Savage, and Party Down’s Martin Starr. Stallone is producing the new venture with his Balboa Productions partner Braden Aftergood, as well as Taylor Sheridan who will be stepping into the role of creator and executive producer.

Tulsa King centers around Sylvester Stallone’s Manfredi, an Italian mob boss who must transition his mafia family and connections to a strange territory in Kansas City, Missouri. Dana Delany’s role will see the Emmy award-winning actor as a rich equestrian who becomes a trustee of the Annie Oakley Society, as reported by Variety. Viewed as a powerful force of nature within the series, it will be interesting to watch Delany and Stallone go toe-to-toe in what appears to be Stallone’s first regular television series role to date.

Before joining the cast of Tulsa King, Dana Delany and Sylvester Stallone have seen very different career paths, to say the least. Stallone is well-known for his starring role as Rocky Balboa in the Rocky franchise, which includes the first two Creed films starring Michael B. Jordan. He is also known for the Rambo franchise that began in the early 1980s, as well as a string of blockbuster films like Tango and CashCliffhangerDemolition Man, and The Specialist. In contrast, Delany has found fame and success through television work, which has seen the actor win two Primetime Emmy Awards for her work on China Beach starting in 1988 alongside CSI veteran Marg Helgenberger. She went on to costar in the hit series Desperate HousewivesBody of Proof, and Hand of God.

As for Sylvester Stallone’s newest partner in crime these days, Taylor Sheridan has become successful in the eyes of Western fans in the modern era. Before the hit television series Yellowstone, Sheridan made a name for himself in film as the writer of the popular Sicario and Hell or High Water, as well as writing and directing the 2017 film Wind River. The initial trailer for Tulsa King was released by Paramount+ to get fans excited for the new series, which will premiere its first two episodes behind the fifth season premiere of Yellowstone this November.
