Sylvester Stallone Will Star In A New Series
A new reality show starring Sylvester Stallone will highlight his personal life and family, solidifying his presence on Paramount+.
Best known as the boxing champion Rocky Balboa, Sylvester Stallone is about to enter a new arena: reality television. Variety reports that Stallone will star in a new series for Paramount+ titled The Family Stallone, a chronicle of the lives of the actor and his family. Stallone will star alongside his wife, Jennifer Flavin, and three daughters, Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet.
A press release from Paramount stated, “Sylvester Stallone is ready to give cameras access to what he would consider the greatest role of his lifetime: dad.” Sophia and Sistine Stallone co-host the podcast Unwaxed; Sophia does not wish to pursue acting, but Sistine and Scarlet have aspirations for the big screen. Scarlet plays Spencer the barista on Sylvester Stallone’s Paramount+ mega-hit, Tulsa King.
The Family Stallone will also explore the world of Jennifer Flavin, a Los Angeles native who co-owns the cosmetics company Serious Skin Care. Now an entrepreneur, Flavin started her career as a model and had a handful of acting gigs, including a small role alongside Sylvester Stallone in 1990’s Rocky V. Though Flavin’s marriage to Stallone has not been without its drama, the pair have remained married since 1997.
In addition to The Family Stallone, Sylvester Stallone will return to Paramount+ for a second season of Tulsa King. The series from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan provided a huge subscriber boost for Paramount+, and the show’s reviews have been good among critics, but excellent among fans. According to Stallone, his latest projects may signal the end of his on-screen career.
Sylvester Stallone said in an interview that, while he may return to the director’s chair, he believes his days as an actor may be numbered. When exactly he will choose to hang it up is something only Stallone knows. Not only is The Family Stallone on the way, but Tulsa King has a second season and a few potential spin-offs in the works.
Franchises and cinematic universes are dominating the industry, and Taylor Sheridan has proven to have quite the knack for making them work. Yellowstone is one of the biggest shows on TV, but its spin-offs, 1883 and 1923, have enriched the show’s world while earning extraordinarily high marks from fans and critics. It seems Paramount+ is looking to Sheridan to do the same thing with Sylvester Stallone and Tulsa King.
Reality TV shows centered on famous families have a history of controversy and familial disintegration. Hogan Knows Best, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, and Keeping Up With the Kardashians, to name a few, yielded pros and cons in the stars’ personal and professional lives. Allowing the public into private life invites criticism and pressure, and though he may be an action star, Sylvester Stallone may find himself in a whole new kind of battle on reality television.
However the world and the Stallones react to a behind-the-scenes look at the family’s fortune and fame, the legacy of Sylvester Stallone is concrete. The actor has originated a number of iconic film characters, Rocky and Rambo, to name a few, and he continues to tell striking and popular stories with Tulsa King. Now Paramount+ is all in, not just on Sylvester Stallone, but on the whole Stallone family.
