The Suspense Thriller Hulu Series With Excellent Seasons Across The Board
Having just celebrated the success of yet another season, FX’s Fargo is one of the hottest shows to check out on the network’s home streamer Hulu. Over five seasons, the anthology crime series has continued to accumulate a cult following and do right by the 1996 Joel and Ethan Coen-helmed film from where its idea sprung. With all episodes currently available on the platform, there’s never been a better time to get caught up on the critically acclaimed production in a good old-fashioned binge session.
The Fargo Series Is Just As Good As The Iconic Film
Nearly two decades after the Frances McDormand and William H. Macy-led feature nabbed seven Academy Award nominations, Noah Hawley, the brains behind FX’s Marvel-centered series, Legion, had the bright idea to bring the Fargo universe back in series form. Each season centers on a new batch of characters, with most of the installments taking place in the towns and cities of the Midwest. No matter the location, there’s always a stacked cast and a crime that needs to be solved, giving audiences brand-new stories and personalities to look forward to every year.
Stellar Casting Lineup That Changes Each Season
Some of the names connected to the Fargo franchise over the last decade are Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman, Chris Rock, Carrie Coon, Kirsten Dunst, Jean Smart, Ewan McGregor, and Jason Schwartzman, just to name a few. Just like the movie from which it spawned, the series has also raked in heaps of critical acclaim for its direction, storyline, and performances, seeing multiple nominations and wins at events like the Emmys and Golden Globes.
Jon Hamm And More In Fargo Season 5
Fargo’s most recent season followed Jon Hamm as Sheriff Roy Tillman, an officer hot on the trail of Juno Temple’s Dot Lyon after the seemingly sheltered housewife committed a string of crimes. The fifth installment also featured supporting performances from names like Stranger Things’ Joe Keery, Fast Times at Ridgemont High star Jennifer Jason Leigh, and New Girl alum Lamorne Morris. Falling somewhere in between the most celebrated and least celebrated seasons, the production nabbed nominations at both the Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Awards.
Alien Delays Season 6
For now, Noah Hawley plans to take a bit of a break from the Midwest and instead shift his creative juices to the Alien universe via a television series on FX. The project will act as a prequel series to the original 1979 film, and be set three decades before the events that played out in Ridley Scott’s sci-fi horror flick. With this in mind, the wait for Season 6 of Fargo may be a little off in the distance.
Although it may be a bummer for fans to learn that there will be an indefinite wait for Fargo‘s sixth season – if Hawley has enough energy to do it at all – this won’t be the only time that the show has had pauses in between fresh episodes. There was a two-year break between Seasons 2 and 3 and then an even longer delay between Seasons 3 and 4, which aired in 2017 and 2020, respectively. And then, there’s the break between 4 and 5 which was another three-year-long wait for fans.
Stream Fargo On Hulu
The good news is that all seasons of Fargo are now streaming on Hulu under its FX channel, giving you plenty of time to catch up before Hawley (hopefully) announces the show’s sixth season return.
