See A Stranger Things Star Play An Even Creepier Kid In New Movie
Stranger Things' Noah Schanpp became a star playing Will, but in The Tutor, he's going to be a very creepy and very evil villain.
While Netflix’s Stranger Things usually has Noah Schnapp battling monsters like Vecna, it seems like he’ll actually be the monster in his new film. Vertical Entertainment recently dropped the trailer for The Tutor, and it seems like Schnapp is ready to take on the villain role this time. For his first time as the antagonist, the rising star looks terrific in the creepy role.
The Tutor follows an in-demand tutor (Garett Hedlund) who is hired to help the son of a billionaire, who quickly becomes dangerously obsessed with his instructor. This role seems like it will be a pretty big departure from Stranger Things for Noah Schnapp. While it still seems to be in the horror/thriller genre, Schnapp must be creepy instead of his sweet, relatable Will Byers character in the Netflix hit series.
As with many of his fellow Stranger Things actors, the series was a breakout role for Noah Schnapp. Although he wasn’t in the first season quite as much as his co-stars, the storyline was almost entirely centered around figuring out how to get his character out of the Upside Down. The following seasons saw Schnapp get a much bigger role, and now his character is one of the most nuanced in the entire cast.
Stranger Things and Noah Schnapp’s Will Byers will be back for one more season, which has yet to announce an official release date. The fifth and final season of the Netflix hit will also bring back, according to IMDB, Finn Wolfhard as Mike, Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin, Sadie Sink as Max, Priah Ferguson as Erica, Joe Keery as Steve, Maya Hawke as Robin, Natalia Dyer as Nancy, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan, David Harbour as Jim, Winona Ryder as Joyce, Bret Gelman as Murray, and Jamie Campbell-Bower as Henry/One/Vecna. The show’s fourth season was split into two parts, so we may see Netflix take the same approach with the final season.
At the end of the fourth season of Stranger Things, we saw Noah Schnapp’s Will Byers and the rest of the Hawkins gang watching in horror as the Upside Down dimension began to leak into our world. Details about the final season are pretty sparse right now, but it seems like we will see them sealing off the Upside Down and taking on the dual threat of Vecna and the Mind Flayer. It also seems like Schnapp’s Will will play a key role in the season.
In interviews discussing the upcoming season, Matt Duffer revealed there would be a focus on Noah Schnapp’s character, specifically in the final season. This would make sense, considering Will Byers’ abduction into the Upside Down kicked off the start of the series, and he has a psychic connection to both Vecna and the hive mind of the Upside Down. Seeing his character’s arc put front and center will bring the show full circle.
While waiting for the release of Stranger Things Season 5, check out Noah Schnapp in The Tutor. The Tutor is set to be released on March 24. Stay tuned for more information on Stranger Things in the meantime.
