Fans have been eagerly waiting for Stranger Things Season 4. Now, we have a peek at the latest season with some new details, like how it will release next year.
The teaser trailer is a small taste for what’s to come in Stranger Things Season 4. Most of it is a highlight reel of the previous seasons to build up hype. It transitions into some quick blips of footage for the upcoming season of the Netflix series. The bread crumbs are not the only given as we have gotten other glimpses of what’s to come, like the return of Hopper, played by David Harbour (Black Widow).
The plan is to make this the biggest entry yet. Stranger Things Season 4 was shot in Georgia, Lithuania, and New Mexico. The different locations will give fans new environments to see and how expansive the story will become. The tease of Hopper reveals that some of this season will take place in Russia.
Stranger Things Season 4 will introduce new regulars to fans and the main characters that have been established across the previous seasons. Jamie Campbell Bower (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald), Eduardo Franco (Booksmart), Joseph Quinn (Game of Thrones), and Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street). They will also be joined by other new cast members with Amybeth McNulty (Anne with an E), Myles Truitt (Black Lightning), Regina Ting Chen (Queen of the South), and Grace Van Dien (Greenhouse Academy). All of these new faces will accompany the main cast with Winona Ryder (Black Swan), David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard (It), Millie Bobby Brown (Godzilla vs. Kong), Gaten Matarazzo (Les Miserables: The Broadway Musical), Caleb McLaughlin (Ultra City Smiths), Noah Schnapp (Bridge of Spies), Sadie Sink (Fear Street), Natalia Dyer (Velvet Buzzsaw), Charlie Heaton (The New Mutants), and Joe Keery (Molly’s Game). Priah Ferguson (The Oath) has been promoted to a series regular after a handful of scenes in previous seasons.
The third season of Stranger Things was back in July 2019, so the delay of Season 4 has not been easy. Producer Shawn Levy told Collider that it had taken so long due to a mix of issues. The most obvious being COVID-19, which shut down production, and the safety measures slowed things down when things got moving again. The other factor was this, being that they chose this season to be “by far — and I mean, by far, far, far — the most ambitious of the seasons.”
The Netflix series was a huge hit when it debuted on the streaming service in 2016. It hit different elements of nostalgia, horror, sci-fi, and mystery. Holding it even more together was the cast that fans adored with veteran stars like David Harbour and Winona Ryder along with new stars who exploded in the industry with Finn Wolfhard and Millie Bobby Brown. That level of success has generated a huge amount of excitement and anticipation for Stranger Things Season 4.
For fans awaiting Stranger Things Season 4, you will have to wait a bit longer. With no concrete release date, the 2022 window can be anything at this point. Until then, you can watch all of the previous seasons on Netflix.
