Stranger Things Season 4 will be here before we know it, but we have been mostly left in the dark about what we can expect from the newest season of the highly successful Netflix sci-fi show. We know that we can expect to see some surprising resurrections but other than that, w have been aching for any tidbits of info we can get our hands on. Now, we have some new images that will give us our best inkling into the new season.
It was revealed that the first episode of Stranger Things Season 4 will be titled “The Hellfire Club” and that had fans going wild with speculation. Was this a reference to the infamous secret society from the X-Men comic books? Or could it be referring to the actual Hellfire Clubs from the 18th century? Well, this new image from the official Stranger Things Instagram account looks like it has revealed what this world’s version of the Hellfire Club will be:
As you can see from the two pictures in that Instagram post, it looks like Stranger Things Season 4 will be giving our group of heroes an official name. The logo we see integrates some familiar imagery from Dungeons & Dragons, the tabletop roleplaying game that was a huge part of the friendship between our main kid characters. Now, it looks like they are getting the gang back together as best as they can and have even given their group a cool name.
It will be interesting to see how this factors into what we know about Stranger Things Season 4. Mainly, Will Byers has left the town of Hawkins, Indiana. Has the gang decided to carry on playing Dungeons & Dragons without him? That would be a little sad considering he seemed the most excited to play it. Could Will be coming back to Hawkins and we’ll see the gang reunited for a classic Dungeons & Dragons session? Considering some footage that the Stranger Things Instagram account posted, that’s a strong possibility:
Stranger Things Season 4 looks like it is going to get back to leaning on some of the Dungeons & Dragons imagery that was so popular in the first season. Considering that tabletop roleplaying has taken off in recent years – especially in 2020 with remote sessions becoming extremely popular due to lockdowns –it makes a lot of sense to return to this aspect of the show. Heck, the big monsters in the show like the Demogorgon and the Mind Flayer have received their names from Dungeons & Dragons creatures. Could we be seeing a new villain that gets named based off a Dungeons & Dragons monster?
It is exciting to know that Stranger Things Season 4 will be playing Dungeons & Dragons again. And it’s likely we will get to see more characters like Steve Harrington join in on the game. For all of us dorks who love seeing this kind of stuff make its way into the fabric of the show, it is making the wait for Stranger Things Season 4 even more hard to bear.
