The second season of the Paramount+ series Star Trek: Picard is coming to Blu-ray and DVD on October 3, and a newly-released special feature from the three-disc set includes a deleted scene with Jeri Ryan (playing Seven of Nine) and Michelle Hurd (playing Raffi Musiker). Season 2 of the series saw Picard (Patrick Stewart) and his crew as they travel back to the 21st Century to protect the timeline from manipulation that could have dire consequences for the entire galaxy. Their quest will cross paths with several legendary Star Trek characters, including Guinan (Whoopi Goldberg and Ito Aghayere), Q (played by John de Lancie) and The Borg Queen (played by Annie Wersching).

The Star Trek: Picard deleted scene was released exclusively by TrekMovie and features a scene from episode 7 (“The Monster”) of Season 2, which sees Michelle Hurd and Jeri Ryan as their characters attempt to track down Dr. Agnes Jurati (Alison Pill) after she is possessed by The Borg Queen. The two are seen bickering as they use security surveillance cameras to track Jurati to a Los Angeles bar.

The Picard Season 2 Blu-ray set includes over 90 minutes of bonus features, including six featurettes, a gag reel, episode commentaries, and the aforementioned deleted scenes. Picard cast members Michelle Hurd, Jeri Ryan, Santiago Cabrera (playing Cristóbal Rios), Alison Pill and Evan Evagora (playing Elnor) are all featured in the set’s extras. A steelbook version of the season two set will also be available to order.

The Blu-ray release of Picard Season 2 comes just as anticipation for the third season is reaching a fever pitch. A cast announcement video released earlier this year (on April 5, First Contact Day) revealed that Season 3 would not only be the final one for the series, it would reunite the Enterprise crew from Star Trek: The Next Generation as well, including Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes (who directed four episodes of Picard as well as two of the Trek feature films), LeVar Burton, Gates McFadden, Michael Dorn, and Marina Sirtis. Jeri Ryan and Michelle Hurd are confirmed to be returning as well.

Star Trek: Picard Season 3 is due to release on Paramount+ in 2023, although a specific date has not yet been announced.

Jeri Ryan in Star Trek: Picard Season 2

Star Trek: Picard marked the triumphant return of not just Patrick Stewart to the franchise (his first since 2002’s Star Trek: Nemesis), but Jeri Ryan as well, who last appeared in the franchise in Star Trek: Voyager, which went off the air in 2001. Her role as Seven of Nine, who is rescued and disconnected from the Borg Collective by Captain Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew), made her an international star and sex symbol, thanks in part to her figure-hugging jumpsuit.

Ryan got her start in acting in 1991, with small roles in Who’s The Boss and The Flash (the original CBS version). She would go on to guest starring roles on Matlock, Murder, She Wrote, and Dark Skies, before landing the role of Seven of Nine in 1997. After Star Trek: Voyager, Jeri Ryan went on to star in Boston Public (with William Shatner, no less), The O.C., Leverage, and Bosch.
