If all the leaks about Spider-Man: No Way Home are to be believed, we already know what perils await our young superhero in the film. While the official trailer of the film confirmed that the chaotic multiverse will be at the center of the story, there are tons of tantalizing rumors out there that only the release of Spider-Man 3 will confirm or shoot down. And while we have been trying to make head or tails of the existing leaks, a new report has emerged which details some shocking tragedies Tom Holland’s Peter Parker will be facing in the upcoming Marvel feature.
Spoilers ahead, in case the report turns out to be true!
Past leaks about the plotline of Spider-Man: No Way Home had detailed that William Dafoe’s Green Goblin will land in Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Earth due to whatever blunder Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) will commit in trying to help Peter. He will soon be accompanied by Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus and Jamie Foxx’s Electro. By the third half of the film, they will be up against Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland. But the fight will turn ugly and by the end of it, someone close to Peter will die in the ensuing chaos.
A prior Reddit leak had detailed that this person would be Ned, but in a new report Geekosity Mag has established that this person will be Aunt May (Marisa Tomei) and her death will be Peter’s fault in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Reportedly, Aunt May will die while Peter is fighting the Green Goblin and when the former is unable to save his aunt, the villain will feel his pure wrath. A heartbroken Peter will be so angry that he will even almost kill the Green Goblin. As per the outlet, Spider-Man 3 will be “emotionally heavy” as the MCU is “not holding back” this time, and Peter losing his calm will mark the “most violent moment” in the film.
Unfortunately, if this Geekosity rumor is correct, it will not be the only tragedy that Peter will be facing in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The film’s trailer has confirmed that after Mysterio outed Spider-Man’s true identity, Peter will approach Doctor Strange to rectify the situation by making everyone forget that he is a superhero. Now, Strange warns him that everyone means everyone, i.e., even MJ will forget that he ever revealed his identity to her. But as we know, the spell will backfire and give the above-mentioned villains entry into MCU’s Earth.
But apparently, the spell will be botched to the point that MJ will completely forget Peter. So, by the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter will be all alone, angry, and depressed. It is at this moment, the outlet says, that a symbiote will enter his universe. It has not been specified whether the “symbiote” here will be Venom who mysteriously landed in MCU’s Earth by the end of Venom: Let There Be Carnage or a new symbiote who will feed off Peter’s rage and sadness. While the report does paint a bleak future for our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, it is best to take it with a grain of salt and wait for the film’s release next month to put an end to all the ifs and maybes.
