Marvel movies are kept more secretive than most. And yet, there are more people who want to know what will happen than with your average movie. That means leaks happen, and today, there’s a big one. A Reddit user known as SpideyForever245 claims to have worked on the set of Spider-Man No Way Home. They’ve now shared detailed notes on the plot, start to finish. While there’s no way to confirm what they said was true, they have some credibility behind them. Recently, there was a Reddit thread where people were guessing the cameo for episode five of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. We now know who that cameo was, and without spoiling you, it seems almost impossible to have just guessed without some insider knowledge.
All of this being said, if you don’t want to know what happens in Spider-Man No Way Home, this is your warning not to read the rest of the details of this post. The leaker doesn’t tell the entirety of the movie because they said that a lot of it was kept secret from most of the crew. However, it does share quite a bit about the ending and how the story comes together, with some fun and neat details. If you’re into rumored spoilers and leaks, this is an exciting one.
According to what this Reddit user knows, they say that Spider-Man No Way Home begins where Far From Home left off for the first bit, but then there is a time jump. After we jump, Peter Parker is in court trying to prove he is innocent. As if Spider-Man doesn’t have enough problems to deal with, as is normal for Parker, this is when world-ending level problems show up in the way of Doctor Strange. It’s been confirmed that Benedict Cumberbatch will be appearing in the film. Strange is there to say that by mysterious forces, the Multiverse is breaking. Villains have figured this out and are exploiting it so they can go into other worlds. Doctor Strange is doing his best to capture them all and confine them in his own specially made prison while he works on the bigger problem.
As Peter Parker joins the fray to work on this issue, he is carrying his own personal burdens. The leaker claims to know that the villains are going to escape after Tom Holland’s Spider-Man messes with something. The leaker doesn’t know what Peter Parker does exactly that frees all the villains, but we can guess that he was in the Sanctum Sanctorum and that he possibly saw something he thought would help his current situation.
This is when Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man appear. Their characters are present in the second and third act. The actors appearing in Spider-Man No Way Home that has been rumored for a while. The pair get to work with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man as they all recapture the villains. The leaker claims that both Maguire and Garfield have their own scenes in the movie as well.
In the finale for Spider-Man No Way Home, the Statue of Liberty now looks like a giant statue of Captain America holding his shield. All the villains and all the Spider-Mans meet up at the statue. Stark’s Arc Reactor is there and all of the villains have their own reasons for wanting to get their hands on it, though the leaker wasn’t clear on what those were and what the true threat was in the situation. Eventually, every villain is captured and put in Doctor Strange’s prison except for Green Goblin, as played by Willem Dafoe.
Dafoe’s Green Goblin has previously been rumored to star as the main villain for Spider-Man No Way Home. In the comics, Green Goblin is one of the more personal villains for Peter Parker. He usually comes at Parker as a man instead of as Spider-Man. He makes things personal. In the 2002 movie, Dafoe’s Green Goblin argues with himself as Norman Osborn. Green Goblin says that, “The cunning warrior attacks neither body nor mind.” Osborn demands to know how they ruin Spider-Man then. Green Goblin answers, “The heart, Osborn! First, we attack his heart!” These pieces of the character’s back story help make sense of what happens next.
According to the leaker, Green Goblin kills someone important. They don’t know who. However, afterward, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is seen crying and then flies into a rage. He goes to kill Green Goblin, though ultimately doesn’t.
Spider-Man No Way Home then ends with Peter Parker finishing high school. It’s unclear on what happens with the other two Spider-Mans or with Green Goblin in the end, other than that Peter Parker doesn’t kill him. The ending of Far From Home still stands and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is still exposed.
And those are all the details the leaker had to share with us. What a wild trip. To find out if these plot details prove true, we’ll have to wait until December. Spider-Man No Way Home is set to release in theaters on December 17, 2021.
