So…She-Hulk and Daredevil are officially a thing. For those who don’t know, episode 8 of Marvel’s She-Hulk premiered on October 6th and featured the return of Charlie Cox‘s Daredevil. Believe it or not, the two heroes had a one-night stand after teaming up to take down some baddies.
Fans, of course, exploded on Twitter following She-Hulk and Daredevil’s thrilling night together. One person even said the She-Hulk/Daredevil hookup made She-Hulk episode 8 “the best episode of Marvel TV yet.” Others were stunned at the events that played out during the episode.
We have been waiting for the She-Hulk and Daredevil to team up since it was revealed that Charlie Cox would make an appearance in the show at San Diego Comic-Con. While some Marvel Netflix fans had their concerns after the portrayal of Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin in Hawkeye, there was at least a bit of hope that the folks at Marvel (specifically Kevin Feige) would somehow incorporate the core elements of who the character was during the three seasons on Netflix. According to the responses on social media, many fans were pleased with what they saw.
The question now remains whether She-Hulk and Daredevil will get together again in the MCU. We know now that Daredevil will have his own adventure in the upcoming 18-episode Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again. However, what isn’t known is the status of She-Hulk following her own series.
She-Hulk and Daredevil have crossed paths in the comics before. They were on opposite sides of cases, which was brought to life in this episode. In fact, one could argue that the Matt Murdock portrayed in episode 8 of She-Hulk was more comics-accurate than the version we saw in the Netflix series.
We have to see how the finale of She-Hulk pans out before we can make any guesses about when She-Hulk and Daredevil will see each other again. The last we saw Matt Murdock, he was doing the “walk of shame” after his one-night stand with Jen Walters. He stated to Jen that he was heading back to Hell’s Kitchen in New York, so maybe there’s a chance Jen will be on a plane heading north by the end of the series, fingers crossed.
The hype surrounding the She-Hulk/Daredevil crossover intensified after Marvel showed a clip of the two fighting it out the day before the episode dropped on Disney+. The addition of Daredevil was perhaps the shot of adrenaline the show needed after many weeks of fans disappointed with it. The backlash became so strong that it reached the point when Titania actress Jameela Jamil had to defend the episodes on social media.
Can She-Hulk maintain this momentum heading toward its final episode, we’ll have to wait and see. While the She-Hulk and Daredevil scene got people talking, it won’t give the season finale armor by any means. It may motivate those who have fallen off the series to give it another chance. Question is, will they be satisfied with the finale?
Regardless, She-Hulk and Daredevil have now become one of the hottest MCU romances.
