Sharon Stone remains one of the best actresses out there and has been picking up all kinds of higher-profile, and even critically acclaimed work of late. She’s set to join some major productions on both the small and big screen over the next couple of years, and we finally got a look at her character who is joining a fan-favorite series. The wacky trailer for The Flight Attendant Season 2 just dropped and in addition to Kaley Cuoco’s Cassie Bowden looking like a total mess, we got an inkling of who Stone is playing in this upcoming run of episodes.

From the trailer, and frankly, from the original casting news, we know that Sharon Stone is set to play Lisa Bowden, Cassie’s mother in the series. Though it’s not totally clear exactly how her character will work into the mix, considering Cassie’s overwhelming issues and personality traits, it’s likely that Lisa is at least partly (if not fully) responsible for how her daughter turned out. Could we see something of an evil turn from Sharon Stone here, or will they keep things more on the comedic side? There’s a good chance the show gives us a mix of both. We only see Sharon Stone briefly in the trailer when Cuoco’s Cassie and T.R. Knight’s Davey Bowden show up at her door with him uttering a simple, “Hi mom.” And the look on Cassie’s face as well as Stone’s reaction here let on that these two have likely not seen each other for some time. The first season of the series did go back and let on that the brother and sister had an emotionally tough childhood, and now we are likely to see who was, in part, at the root of the problems. It is unclear just how big of a role Sharon Stone has in this season but it’s unlikely the series brought an actress of her talent and caliber on for just a bit part or cameo. It figures that she will factor in a pretty big way.

Sharon Stone joins a series that knocked it out of the part with its first season on HBO Max. Based on the Chris Bohjalian novel of the same name, the story follows Cassie Bowden, an alcoholic flight attendant who spends her time sleeping with passengers and mostly just getting black-out drunk in her spare time. But things unravel when she wakes up in a hotel room next to a dead body and has no recollection of the night before. This sets her on a path that involves the FBI, CIA, spy games, conspiracies as well as a fight for her own sobriety. It’s a dark comedy through and through.

As for Sharon Stone, well The Flight Attendant isn’t the only thing she has on the docket right now. It was also recently announced that she will be joining the DC Extended Universe in a villain role. That’s going to be in the upcoming Blue Beetle movie which will introduce the titular character to the comic book movie franchise. That movie is set for a 2023 release and is currently in pre-production.
