Sengoku Youko Anime Will Bring The Manga’s Demonic Siblings To Life Next Year
The 2024 anime season should start off strong, as Satoshi Mizukami’s Sengoku Youko manga is getting an anime adaptation that premieres in January (via Crunchyroll). The anime is set to consist of three cours to adapt every arc of the original series. Along with announcing the premiere date, the anime got a brief teaser trailer showing off the characters and some action.

The Sengoku Youko manga appeared in Mag Garden’s Monthly Comic Blade magazine from December 2007 to July 2014 and continued on the Comic Blade web service from September 2014 to May 2016. Masahiro Aizawa will be directing the animated adaptation, with White Fox handling the animation production.
The voice cast includes Soma Saito as Jinka, Yuki Takada as Tama, Ryohei Kimura as Shinsuke, Tomoyo Kurasawa as Shakugan, Hiroki Nanami as Senya, and Maaya Uchida as Tsukiko.
Sengoku Youko takes place in a world that is divided into humans and monsters called katawara. Tama is a katawara who loves and wants to protect humans, while her brother Jinka hates humans, despite mostly being one himself.
Jukki Hanada is handling the scripts for the Sengoku Youko anime adaptation, Yousuke Okuda is designing the characters, and Evan Call is on board for the music. The two arcs that are planned to be adapted for the series are the Yo Naoshi Kyōdai-hen” (World Reform Siblings Arc) and “Sen Ma Konton-hen” (Thousand Demons Chaos Arc). As mentioned, the anime is set to run for three cours.

Sengoku Youko is set to premiere on the TOKYO MX, ABC TV, Metele, and BS Asahi channels. With its January 2024 release date, it should be a great way to kick off the new year and new anime season.
The Crowded Winter 2024 Anime Season
Sengoku Youko premieres amidst a fairly packed Winter 2024 anime season, with plenty of new and returning series. New anime like Solo Leveling, Chained Soldier, Shaman King: Flowers, Metallic Rogue, and more will be hitting our screens. Returning series include the fifth season of Kingdom, the third season of Classroom of the Elite, and the second season of High Card.
After Sengoku Youko and the Winter 2024 anime season kicks off the year, one of the most hotly anticipated new anime series of the year, Kaiju No. 8, will be premiering in the Spring 2024 anime season.
Production I.G (Haikyu!!, Psycho-Pass, Moriarty the Patriot) is animating the series, which takes place in a world kaiju attacks are commonplace in Japan, and the Japan Defense Force is in charge of neutralizing the threats. Kafka Hibino, a kaiju corpse cleanup man, dreams of joining the Japan Defense Force but soon finds himself with the ability to turn into a kaiju himself.
